Fujii And Bennetts Green Strike Again

It was well worth the trip to Canberra for talented Sydney apprentice Joe Fujii, this afternoon.

Fujii teamed up with trainer Albert Stapleford to bring home Bennetts Green to victory in the $35,000 Aristocrat Camarena Quality Handicap (1000m).

This was Fujii's 12th ride on the horse and together they have notched an impressive record of six wins and six placings.

Bennetts Green and Mukareena led together at the turn and it was a real ding dong battle to the line all the way down the straight,  but Bennetts Green put in a gutsy performance to hold off the equally brave Mukareena and the fast finishing Aggravation (Ron Stewart).

Bennetts Green won by a short neck from Aggravation with Mukareena (Jamie Whitney) in third place a further neck away.

They ran 57.86 for the journey, the final 600m in 34.75.

Bennetts Green by Shovog from Zaiglo, was bred by Willow Grove Stud and sold at the Magic Millions Adelaide Sales for $42,000 in 2002, to Stapleford.
