Silburn Being Flown To Sydney After Canberra Fall

Canberra jockey Ray Silburn is being flown to Sydney tonight after a horror fall at Thoroughbred Park earlier on today.

"He's not very good at all and they are going to fly him to Sydney tonight." said Manager Stephen Wilson.

"We expect to hear from the Doctors in Sydney once they have had a chance to see him when he arrives."

Silburn was conscious when he was taken to hospital immediately after the fall but is believed to have suffered spinal injuries.

The full extent of those injuries won't be known until Doctors in Sydney have examined him.

Silburn is one of the mainstay riders of Canberra and is well liked and respected in the industry.

He was riding the Tom Wilson trained Caza Ladron, when the horse appeared to suffer a massive bleeding attack, collapsing and dying on track.
