On jumping Levende reared missing the start considerably. Trainer K Stewart was advised that a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of Levende. Chilton, which jumped awkwardly, raced greenly in the early stages and then hung in in the straight. Near the 400m Entreaty was disappointed for a run to the inside of Royal Masterpiece, checked, shifted outwards, clipped the heels of Appo and blundered. Red Raphier hung in in the straight proving difficult to ride.

RACE 2 – Kim Craft & Friends Maiden Handicap (Div 2) 1000m

As A W Robinson was overweight, G Buckley was substituted as the rider of Timely Affair. A W Robinson was fined $100 under AR 120(b) . Ginger Candy was slow into stride. On jumping Prestigic shifted out bumping Dax. Passing the 450m Timely Affair had to be steadied away from the heels of Suits Joe.

RACE 3 – Eagles Plumbing Maiden Handicap 1200m

Convent Prince shifted out at the start bumping Palouser. Danish, which was slow into stride, raced greenly throughout and near the 50m steadied out away from the heels of Palouser and became unbalanced. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight Field Commission hung out. Post race veterinary examinations of Palace Guard and Palouser did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer N McBurney was reminded of his obligation not to allow his horses to leave the course before the prescribed time.

RACE 4 – Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council Maiden Handicap 1350m

Near the 300m Jindalee Poppy improved to the outside of Charlotte’s Way and in doing so forced Mustela wider. Jindalee Poppy hung in under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination of Fast Dancer did not reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 5 – Garden Master – Dragon’s Den Class 1 Handicap 1350m

Cymbala was slow into stride. Reflections, which was slow to begin, was held up on the heels of Blue Patriarch from the 600m until approaching the home turn and near the finish shifted in and brushed Royal Conspiracy.

RACE 6 – Lawler Partners Class 4 Handicap 1100m

Balancing Act slipped at the start losing ground. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Seguista, apprentice T Muto stated that after being slow to begin his mount, which was resuming from a spell, was unable to keep up with the fast early pace. He said despite his urgings Seguista did not run on as he would have expected and was disappointing. Trainer P Perry will be interviewed regarding the poor run. Taxed bled from both nostrils for the first time and will incur the mandatory three months bar.

RACE 7 – Wyong Rugby League Club Provincial Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1600m

As N Seymour failed to arrive on course, J Grisedale was substituted as the rider of Sindbad. N Seymour will be interviewed. The start was delayed while Dr Circ, which cast its near hind plate en route to the barriers, was re-plated. After being loaded in the barriers O’mars became fractious and reared dislodging its rider D Beadman. In the early stages I Declare overraced getting its head up. Rounding the turn near the 1000m Sindbad, which was racing fiercely, shifted in crowding Costagem which was checked off that gelding’s heels, shifted out abruptly inconveniencing Channon Legend and Zatso. Near the 400m Sindbad, which continued to race fiercely, had to be steadied away from the heels of the tiring Master Splinter.

Gunnery which was kicked behind the gates was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Spinnaker jumped awkwardly, raced greenly in the middle stages and shifted in near the 1000m crowding Artesiana which struck the running rail and became unbalanced. Spinnaker was held up approaching and rounding the home turn and over the final 100 metres raced erratically under pressure. Approaching the home turn In The Bag was held up behind Hyper Oak and making the turn had to be steadied and shift to the outside of that gelding which commenced to tire. Flying Fancy was unable to obtain clear running in the straight and went to the line without being fully tested. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Hyper Oak, trainer G Yorke stated that in his opinion after being caught three wide throughout, when the field sprinted at the 600m the gelding was left flatfooted. He said that Hyper Oak had pulled up well and undertook to report if there is anything amiss with the gelding in the days subsequent. A post race veterinary inspection of Your Day revealed the gelding to have been galloped on on the off hind leg.

RACE 9 – Sea-FM Class 1 Handicap 1100m

The start of the race was delayed as Priceless Treasure proved difficult to get to the gates. Trainer Mr P Perry was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s behaviour. Near the 1000m Naberzox laid in crowding Planagram. Shortly after this Shiatsu shifted in away from Covet Thee (M Travers), which shifted in resulting in Naberzox being crowded in onto Planagram which had to be checked. Apprentice M Travers was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he allows sufficient room for runners to his inside. Too Foxy did not obtain clear running over the final 100 metres. After the race trainer M Thexton reported that Planagram had sustained a laceration to the off hock.
