Twelve (12) SWAB SAMPLES WERE TAKEN FROM VARIOUS RUNNERS AT RANDOM

RACE 1: GOLDEN GRAIN HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES:

SILK LINED stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground and despite the constant vigorous efforts of its rider could not muster speed in the early stages. Passing the 1000M TACONMI had to be steadied to avoid the heels of ROSE BONBON (T Treichel), which shifted in when not clear. T Treichel was asked to exercise more care in future. R Kerwin (SHAKE DOWN) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137(a)) in that in the early part of the straight she allowed her mount to shift in whilst riding it along, when insufficiently clear of TACONMI, which had to be checked severely and lost its rightful running. R Kerwin’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to expire on Saturday 31 August, on which day she may resume. D Jones (BE QUICK) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137(a)) in that passing the 250M he directed his mount outwards when insufficiently clear of TIERWAY, which was crowded severely and carried outwards resulting in TIERWAY and SHAKE DOWN colliding and ROSE BONBON being hampered. D Jones’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to expire on Monday 2 September. Acting under LR13 it was ordered that D Jones fulfil his engagements up to and including Saturday 24 August and his suspension would commence after that.

Due to the unavailability of any other senior rider, C Morgan was given special permission to replace D Lunn as the rider of BOLD KIND. CAPTAIN RHETT stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. When questioned in relation to the performance of PUMP IT UP, D Frahm explained that his mount began awkwardly today and failed to show any of its customary early pace. He said that at no stage during the race did PUMP IT UP travel and he was forced to urge his mount for the entire journey. He said that when placed under extreme pressure inside the 200M PUMP IT UP weakened noticeably and was, in his opinion, extremely disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of PUMP IT UP failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Mr E Frahm said that PUMP IT UP would be sent for a short spell. Acting on this advice no action was taken.
