Waterhouse Bounces Back With a Treble

r1gaiwaterhouse.jpg (8832 bytes)Gai Waterhouse has put the disappointment of losing one of her stable stars yesterday behind her by preparing a winning treble at Randwick today.

Waterhouse was in the news yesterday when owners of the multiple Group One winner Carnegie Express decided to take that galloper out of her Randwick stables and transfer him to the former South African David Payne.

But today Gai let her horses do the talking and she was a winner three times over.

Early in the afternoon Jesterette and Robyn Freeman showed a clean set of heels in winning the Paspaley Pearls Handicap in good style.

A short time later the million dollar colt Stanford showed plenty of fight to break through at his third start. The colt by Danehill was ridden to victory by Chris Munce.

The treble was completed when Red Trinket made it two wins from as many starts this preparation in the last of seven events.

With Danny Beasley in the saddle Red Trinket gave plenty to hold out the challenges which were issued in the home straight.

A gelding by Lure, Red Trinket downed Kepi Blanc and Love’s Stubby to give Eduardo Cojuangco and Andrew Baddock’s Gooree Pastoral Company Syndicate another winner.
