Consideration was given to an objection lodged by D Jeffries rider of the second placed PIRATE SPY against MISAMBLE (App B Hull) being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 200m. It was established that both MISAMBLE and PIRATE SPY commenced to shifted out near the 200m and then near the 40m MISAMBLE bumped PIRATE SPY. However as the stewards were of the view that had the interference to PIRATE SPY not occurred that MISAMBLE would still have finished ahead of PIRATE SPY the objection was dismissed. At a subsequent inquiry B Hull was advised to exercise more care. SUPERFLY GUY was slowly away. OUR FAMILY began awkwardly. WATCH THE TIME hung out rounding the home turn carrying ST. JUBILEE wider. A post race veterinary examination of ST. JUBILEE revealed the mare may be displaying mild lameness in the off hind leg and had sustained an abrasion to the same leg. When questioned G Ryan (WATCH THE TIME) explained that the mare hung out throughout and as a result he was unable to fully ride his mount out in the straight. A post race veterinary examination of WATCH THE TIME did not reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Ms A Lloyd was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of WATCH THE TIME.
