RACE 1: Become an STC Member Handicap 1100m:

Plum Pudding, which swung away and dislodged its rider when being loaded in the barriers, was withdrawn at 12.25pm. Subsequently it was directed that all bets on Plum Pudding be refunded and there be no alteration to other betting. On jumping Kenwest was hampered when Danseur Celebre shifted in. A post-race veterinary examination of Danseur Celebre did not reveal any abnormality. A swab sample was taken. Passing the 900m, after being tightened by Dark Topaze, which hung in away from Royal Flutter, Loopy was checked when it ran out across the heels of Dark Topaze. Danseur Celebre hung out when trapped wide in the middle stages. Bocconcini raced greenly rounding the home turn and then ran wide on straightening. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Royal Flutter to be lame in front. Trainer Mr W. Prain was advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided before Royal Flutter is permitted to race again.

RACE 2: Corporate Membership Handicap 1550m:

On jumping Acacia Bay and Shalang were tightened for room between Maverick and Bullala, both of which shifted ground. After making contact with Bullala near the 1400m Master Veloce became unbalanced and shifted in resulting in Bullala being taken across the running of Acacia Bay, which had to be checked. When questioned, B. York (Jesterette) stated that his mount raced ungenerously and on two occasions shied away from the running rail. Ms E. Candy, representing trainer Mrs G. Waterhouse, indicated that Jesterette would now be spelled.

RACE 3: Members Raceday Rewards Handicap 1200m:

At the entrance to the straight when Cuchulinn shifted to outside the heels of Alqsar, Eco Warrior was taken out onto Galiano. Cuchulinn then hung out, which resulted in Eco Warrior and Galiano being hampered further. Near the 100m Eco Warrior was steadied when tightened for room between Riu and Galiano, both of which shifted ground. Post-race veterinary examinations of Knuckleodeon and Eco Warrior did not reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 4: Webster Signs Superfecta 1900m:

The saddle on Ya Ya Effendi shifted forward in the early stages placing its rider, J. Cassidy, at a disadvantage. Iggy ran out badly rounding the first turn taking Casual Story wider. Trainer Ms P. Webber reported that Iggy got its tongue over the bit and that it was now her intention to give the gelding a short break and then experiment in its work with a lugging bit. As Iggy commenced to give ground quickly near the 500m Iggy and Casual Story raced tight for a short distance inside Mouthwash. A post-race veterinary examination of Iggy did not reveal any abnormality.

RACE 5: Members Merchandise Handicap 1900m:

An objection was lodged by D. Nikolic, rider of 4th placegetter, Lion Rock, against Storm Buster being declared 2nd placegetter alleging interference near the 500m. The Stewards established that approaching the 500m Lion Rock and Storm Buster both endeavoured to take a run between Interstate and Black Comet where there was insufficient room for two horses. In the incident the hindquarters of Storm Buster were contacted by the shoulder of Lion Rock resulting in Storm Buster being turned in across the running of Lion Rock, which had to be checked across the heels of Interstate. The Stewards were not satisfied that the interference was fully attributable to Storm Buster and bearing in mind also the margin of 1¾ lengths dismissed the objection. At a subsequent inquiry A. W. Robinson was reminded of his responsibility to ensure there is sufficient room when shifting ground.

RACE 6: Inside The Barrier Breakfast Handicap 1250m:

Bisonte was slow to begin. Ziemel Tayeb, which was slow to begin, was checked shortly after when tightened for room between Zarouk and Gladiada, both of which shifted ground. RACE 8: Guineas Restaurant Superfecta 1550m:

River To Me, which was slow to begin, was hampered shortly after the start when Panorama shifted in. York Street, which missed the start slightly, was checked shortly afterwards when tightened for room between Kepi Blanc and Forbill, both of which shifted ground. York Street and Kepi Blanc were then buffeted for room for a short distance between Hursley Flyer and Forbill. Approaching the first turn Counter Force got its head up when being restrained off the heels of Panorama. In the incident Counter Force shifted in and hampered York Street. A post-race veterinary examination of York Street did not reveal any abnormality. A swab sample was taken. D. McLellan stated that York Street, which was back in distance today, was not suited when it got back in the field due to early interference, particularly as the tempo of the race developed into a sprint home. Trainer Mr P. Perry stated that he would be looking to step York Street up in distance if a suitable race was available and undertook to report to the Stewards if there was anything amiss with the gelding in the days subsequent.
