RACE 1: TALLWOODS GOLFING HOLIDAYS MAIDEN HCP 1000M

ROISAWAY was declared a late scratching at 11.57am on veterinary advice. VONDALE and RED LEGACY were both slow to begin. MAHRATHE jumped awkwardly and then hung out over the concluding stages whilst under pressure. JEUNESSE DOREE became fractious in the barrier, delaying the start. FIERY FLAME shifted in after the start and crowded WAKEPAR, then shortly after crowded PRINCE OF ALLYN and INTEGRANGEL resulting in all four runners becoming unbalanced. On the point of the home turn INTEGRANGEL became awkwardly placed on the heels MAHRATHE and PARIS METRO and was steadied. PARIS METRO raced greenly throughout and became unbalanced on the home turn.

RACE 2: COOGEE BAY BOUTIQUE HOTEL CLASS 1 HCP 1000M

A warning was placed on the racing manners of FACING THE WIND after that mare hung out on the home turn and on straightening and also in the straight, proving a difficult ride for apprentice Toshio Uchiyama. TIVOLI TIME hung out rounding the home turn and over the final stages. NASRULLA PRINCE shifted out over the final stages and bumped NEVER JEST.

RACE 3: PARK ROYAL PARRAMATTA CLASS 4 HCP 1000M

The start was momentarily delayed after HERCKEY had pulled an off fore shoe whilst at the barriers. HANAMICHI jumped outwards when released and crowded POTTER’S CHOICE out onto SWISS FRANC who in turn crowded ASTUTE GIRL which was severely hampered and lost ground. Shortly after this HERCKEY shifted in resulting in ASTUTE GIRL becoming further hampered. PLEASE shied outwards joining the course proper at the 900m. Approaching the 600m SWISS FRANC, which was overracing, became awkwardly placed on heels and shifted out. Jockey D McLellan (DARK BRANDY) was instructed to exercise more care when shortly after jumping, he allowed his mount to shift in which momentarily took HERCKEY inwards, resulting in that gelding being steadied. POTTER’S CHOICE was momentarily crowded when racing between HANAMICHI and ASTIUTE GIRL, on the point of the turn.

RACE 4: TAREE RSL CLUB TRANSITIONAL HCP 1250M

CELESTIAL SWITCH reared in the barriers when released. OREKAMAY was slow to begin. Apprentice Toshio Uchiyama pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137 (a), when he allowed his mount MOOKTA’S REWARD to shift in approaching the 1000m and in doing so, took GEORGIE BARRON inwards resulting in TROUBLE IN HEAVEN being severely crowded, checked and lose ground. Uchiyama’s licence to ride in races was suspended from 19th August until 31st August on which day he may ride. Shortly after straightening TROUBLE IN HEAVEN was brushed when BRITT’S OPERA shifted out to obtain clear running. GEORGIE BARRON, after being steadied near the 1000m when taken inwards, was shortly after caught in a wide position when approaching the 800m, was restrained and allowed to settle at the rear of the field.

RACE 5: MANNING RIVER TIMES OPEN HCP 1400M

HER MAN BOB was momentarily held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn.

1ST: LONELY PYRAMUL 2ND: HER MAN BOB 3RD: READY NOW

RACE 6: 2RE CLASS 1 HCP 1400M

Apprentice Veronica Tearle was fined the sum of $50 under LR70 after she failed to claim her full allowance and was subsequently replaced on MACRIT by Toshio Uchiyama. Jockey

D McLellan (SMALL PROMISE) was reprimanded after his mount lay in approaching the 1200m in which ABSAPURLA was crowded and bumped OUR CHUM. Shortly after this SPIN THE WHEEL was momentarily hampered by ABSAPURLA. Approaching the 600m SMALL PROMISE was crowded when racing between ZANITY EXPRESS and OUR CHUM, which rolled out, then in the straight SMALL PROMISE had a tendency to lay in whilst under pressure. Jockey N Gooden was instructed to exercise more care after his mount KUB rolled in approaching the 200m and crowded SPIN THE WHEEL, which was eased, then shifted out.

1ST: OUR BULLET 2ND: SMALL PROMISE 3RD: FLAG

RACE 7: TALLWOODS 2002 TAREE GOLD CUP 2000M

POINT GUARD was scratched on veterinary advice at 11.37am. MIDNIGHT CAROLS stumbled on jumping and became unbalanced. BRANKA MAGIC was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, the saddle of SHOEMAKER shifted forward placing jockey R Thompson at considerable disadvantage for the remainder of the race. CRIMEWAVE became awkwardly placed on heels during the early stages of the race and shifted in and momentarily crowded MOUNTAIN ECHO onto BRANKA MAGIC, which steadied. QUADRI appeared to be under pressure and began to lose ground from the 600m. HURSLEY FLYER was momentarily crowded approaching the winning post on the first occasion. CRIMEWAVE was held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight and did not receive clear running until approaching the 200m. SPLENDID RETREAT did not receive clear running at any stage in the straight and went to the line without being fully tested.

1ST: ALL TANKED UP (NZ) 2ND: MOUNTAIN ECHO 3RD: CRIMEWAVE

RACE 8: NBN TELEVISION CLASS 4 HCP 2000M

Jockey D McLellan was fined the sum of $100 under AR120 (b) when found to be overweight on MUTOLA and was subsequently replaced by M Manktelow. RANPEKAN rounded the first turn awkwardly and became unbalanced. OPERA COURT hung out rounding the home turn and bumped GOLDEN BOBBIE, which was steadied.
