RACE 2: BROWNS TYRES MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES:

SWITCHING DIXIE and CHEEKY PILGRIM missed the start. CHEEKY PILGRIM raced greenly throughout. When placed under pressure inside the 300M LIKE THE STYLE hung in.

RACE 3: REGAL HOTEL CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000 METRES:

BROTHER SUPERIOR missed the start.

1^st: FINAL INTRIGUE 2^nd: WARRAH LADY 3^rd: BROTHER SUPERIOR 4^th: SOMERTON MAGIC

RACE 4: CLUBS NSW CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1300 METRES:

METEOROL stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer Mr R Royle was told that prior to racing again METEOROL would have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Passing the 250M GREGORIA ran onto the heels of EXPRESSCAY, blundered and almost fell. For some distance over the concluding stages KAAP MARLEA, which was hanging in, experienced difficulty obtaining a clear run.

RACE 5: RAILWAY HOTEL TRANSITIONAL HANDICAP 1300 METRES:

SUTRA was crowded at the start and lost ground. KNIGHTY NIGHT missed the start. For a short distance in the early part of the straight, SPELTHORN and PASSION PALACE bumped, resulting in SPELTHORN becoming unbalanced. B Gatenby (LEGGETT) was reprimanded for his use of the whip over the concluding stages when his horse was out of contention.
