RACE 2: BOOKMAKERS’ TRANSITIONAL HANDICAP 1900 METRES:

For a considerable distance, approaching and rounding the home turn, HANCOCK was held up and unable to obtain clear running and near the 300M had to be steadied and shifted out to go forward. A post-race veterinary examination of CLEAR DISPLAY, which failed to improve under pressure inside the final 200M, failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

RACE 3: Garry BURGESS/Greg BURGESS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES:

CAPOTE ROSE missed the start. GLAREOLA blundered at the start and despite the constant vigorous efforts of its rider could not muster any pace in the early stages. For some distance in the early stages and rounding the turn near the 800M TACONMI raced fiercely and threw its head in the air.

RACE 4: Jim McDONALD/Nev WATERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1100 METRES:

PALATIAL SOUND was crowded shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Near the 700M PALATIAL SOUND ran onto the heels of TRUE REVIEW, blundered and almost dislodged its rider. Near the 75M BAWLDER had to be checked and lost ground when crowded by BUSTER SLY (M Manktelow), which shifted in when not quite clear. M Manktelow was severely reprimanded (AR137(a)). When placed under pressure over the concluding stages OCEANA’S GIRL hung in.

RACE 5: Terry O’SHEA/Ken MULLER CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1300 METRES:

Approaching the turn near the 800M GREGORIA began to race fiercely and had to be steadied away from the heels of HORB GIRL.
