TRACK: GOOD
Race 1. CLASS 4 HANDICAP, 1200 METRES:
CALLABOU was withdrawn on veterinary advice at 12:10pm when an examination of the gelding revealed neck soreness.
Race 2. OPEN HANDICAP, 1400 METRES:
IL DON brushed the rail near the 650 metres.
Race 3. MAIDEN PLATE: 1000 METRES:
STAR CROSS DANCER proved difficult to load. Trainer MR B LAWSON was advised that a warning would be recorded against the filly… FIGHTING PEDRILLE was slowly away… Nearing the home turn CENTA GLOW was held up for a short distance behind the tiring LADY SUBLIME…. Passing the 50 metres THE LIVELY BEAN was crowded between MISS PUDDLES and FIGHTING PEDRILLE, both of which shifted ground.
Race 4. MAIDEN PLATE, 1000 METRES:
CARNIVAL CAT was slowly away then raced wide throughout… NOMOLOS GOLD which was slow to begin was crowded shortly after the start between MARWIN'S PRIDE and MY JULIE ANN… IDOL'S GIRL raced wide throughout.
Race 5. CLASS 1 HANDICAP, 1200 METRES:
A post race veterinary examination of HOT SORT which raced below expectations revealed no apparent abnormalities.
RACE 6. CLASS 2 HANDICAP, 1600 METRES:
KOSTA HIGH began awkwardly and lost ground… IGGY over raced in the middle stages…. Rounding the home turn TERRIFIC TACTIC (App G SCIMONE) shifted out to improve when not clear of KOSTA HIGH which was hampered and taken out onto GARDEN SCENE which was carried wider - G SCIMONE was told to exercise more care when shifting to obtain runs in future.
RACE 7. TRANSITIONAL HANDICAP, 1200 METRES:
AL NAZAIRE shifted out on jumping resulting in MY NOTE and GOLD SHAMROCK being hampered… HIP HIP HURRAH was slowly away.
RIDING CHANGES:
Race 3. B WOOD was substituted as the rider for LADY SUBLIME when G WILLIAMS was late arriving on course. An inquiry into G WILLIAMS late arrival was adjourned to enable
G WILLIAMS to provide receipts related to a car breakdown enroute to the course.
