RACE ONE: MAIDEN PLATE 900 METRES.

ASTRONITO raced wide throughout. NOT ME was checked shortly after the start by TALEELUCK which shifted in whilst hanging and LOOK HERE MISSIE which shifted out. NOT ME and NANNA’S GIRL hung out rounding the home turn carrying ASTRONITO wider. Near the 600m SECRET MIRRORS was steadied away from the heels of MIGHTY EAGLE.

1st) GO MIST 2nd) COUNTESS IN 3rd) FEATHER BOA 4th) SECRET MIRRORS

RACE TWO: CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1100 METRES.

OFF THE JOB was slowly away. DIVINE LILLY underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race and was passed fit to start. DIVINE LILLY became unbalanced near the 900m. Near the 150m CALL ME OATS was eased when disappointed for a run between DIVINE LILLY and GLEESO’S GREY. CALL ME OATS was then unable to obtain clear running until near the 20m.

RACE THREE: MAIDEN PLATE 1100 METRES.

PACAWAC began awkwardly losing ground. BILLY GUN raced wide throughout. JUST LIKE FLASH raced greenly in the straight proving difficult to ride out.

1st) OUR PROPHECY 2nd) WRIGLEY’S CROSSING 3rd) CUMBOOGLE PEPPER 4th) SLICK STREAM

RACE FOUR: CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1400 METRES.

JACK’S GOLD POT was crowded at the start. EYES FRONT over raced in the early stages. NIGHT TALK raced wide throughout.

1st) SOLID MANDALA 2nd) ROCKLEY OPERA 3rd) PRATT’S MISS 4th) JACK’S GOLD POT

RACE FIVE: CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600 METRES.

Trainer Mr R Lomax was fined $50 for failing to declare B Timmis as the rider for OUR JARRAH by the prescribed time. (LR 35 (1) (2)). IRIDIUM WAY and BRED FOR BATTLE underwent veterinary examinations prior to the race and were passed fit to start. COUNTY GIRL, SCRATCH and BRED FOR BATTLE all over raced and raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. HURRICANE COURTNEY raced wide throughout. STAR VATION was unable to obtain clear running from the 300m to the 50m. Near the 1300m JEMKARA was checked away from the heels of IRIDIUM WAY.

1st) ZORBA DUNDEE 2nd) SCRATCH 3rd) COUNTY GIRL 4th) MIDDAY SPELL

RACE SIX: CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1400 METRES.

VIN DE MAISON over raced and got its head up in the early and middle stages and near the 700m was checked away from the heels of EVIL. ELLASCENA which was following was severely checked as a result losing ground. Near the 1100m the saddle slipped forward on THE SHOOTIST placing G Ryan its rider at a severe disadvantage for the remainder of the race and as a result THE SHOOTIST took no competitive part in the race. WENDY’S PICK had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. When questioned Trainer Mr M Wales (HANG ON SOUPY) explained that at Louth the horse never appeared to handle the sandy surface and the win of the horse today had surprised him. Mr Wales was advised that HANG ON SOUPY would now be expected to race consistently. A post race veterinary examination of ELLASCENA revealed the horse was lame in front. Trainer Mr J Denison was advised that a veterinary certificate of suitability for racing would be required prior the horse being permitted to start in a race again.

1st) HANG ON SOUPY 2nd) WENDY’S PICK 3rd) BOB’S WAY 4th) MEMPHIS LIGHTS

RACE SEVEN: OPEN HANDICAP 1700 METRES.

ROMA POINT was a late withdrawal at 9.05am. BARNARD’S CASTLE over raced in the early stages. Near the 1500m THE ARK was steadied when crowded by SIR SILVERSTONE (App B Timmis) which shifted in. B Timmis was advised to exercise more care. Near the 800m BINNIA BEST and MISSY FLANDERS were crowded by BITCEDE (App G McKeon) which shifted in. G McKeon was advised to exercise more care. BINNIA BEST hung out when under pressure in the straight. When questioned App G McKeon (BITCEDE) explained that he was instructed to have the horse racing in behind the speed however after being trapped wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride in order to obtain a position nearer the rail and as such BITCEDE raced further forward than anticipated. A post race veterinary examination of BINNIA BEST revealed the horse had sustained an injury to its off fore tendon. Trainer Mr A Wardle was advised that a veterinary certificate of suitability for racing would be required prior to the horse being permitted to start in a race again.

RACE EIGHT: OPEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES.

IRISH PRINCE was slowly away. A post race veterinary examination of IRISH PRINCE did not reveal any obvious abnormality.
