All winners were sent for routine specimens with the following being obtained:
RACE 1: NASRULLA PRINCE, RACE 2: DAKA’S HANDOUT, RACE 3: VETORISC, RACE 4: ON CENTRE STAGE, RACE 5: SNEEM, RACE 6: MOUNTAIN ECHO, RACE 7: MR PROFESSIONAL.

RACE 1: TALLWOODS GOLFING HOLIDAYS E & G MAIDEN HCP 1000M

INTEGRANGEL was slow to begin, then approaching the 200m, whilst improving into a narrow run, was steadied when crowded after ASTRONITO (L Olsen) which had been hanging out, rolled in. Jockey Olsen was instructed to in future exercise more care. MENZCAY hung out throughout. Trainer M Byers was instructed that a warning was being placed on the racing manners of MENZCAY. ASTRONITO hung out between the 800m and 200m placing the rider at a considerable disadvantage.

1ST: NASRULLA PRINCE 2ND: OBOLENSKY 3RD: ASTRONITO

RACE 2: COOGEE BAY BOUTIQUE HOTEL F & M MAIDEN HCP 1000M

Trainer D Adkins was fined the sum of $50 under LR35 for failing to advise his rider for NATURE’S WANDERER by the prescribed time. Jockey A Nicholls (ill) was replaced on WATTEGIRL by V Sit. DIAMOND JO began awkwardly, losing considerable ground. MIKATO knuckled over shortly after the start, then was bumped by DIAMOND JO, resulting in MIKATO losing considerable ground. WATTEGIRL lay in after the start and bumped SORRENTO GOLD, which became unbalanced. PENNY FROM HEAVEN was crowded on jumping between NITSUA and DAKA’S HANDOUT, which was taken outwards by CYCLONE BELLE. This resulted in PENNY FROM HEAVEN becoming unbalanced and losing considerable ground in the early part of the straight and nearing the 200m, NATURER’S WANDERER, which was racing greenly, shifted in and bumped MING’S COURT in onto CYCLONE BELLE resulting in CYCLONE BELLE becoming unbalanced. Shortly after PENNY FROM HEAVEN (B Pengelly) shifted out when attempting to obtain clear running and crowded CYCLONE BELLE. Jockey B Pengelly was severely reprimanded and instructed to in future exercise more care when shifting ground. ORDELLE having its first start in a race, hung out from the 600m, placing jockey T Treichel at a considerable disadvantage. NITSUA when racing awkwardly during the early and middle stages lay in behind CYCLONE BELLE nearing the 600m and was steadied.

1ST: DAKA’S HANDOUT 2ND: PENNY FROM HEAVEN 3RD: SESTAINIA

RACE 3: TALLWOODS LUXURY ACCOMMODATION MAIDEN HCP 1400M

M Squires (ill) was replaced on KHANPERRA by G Coleman. D Haw (indisposed) was replaced on OFFICE GOSSIP by B Compton. Jockey M Squires was instructed to produce a Doctor’s certificate of fitness before riding again. GOMENZ was slow to begin. KHANPERRA raced wide throughout. EASTERN FOLLY overraced during the early stages. VETORISC lay out rounding the home turn and was checked from the heels of AUSSIE SHEILA, then in the early part of the straight was held up for clear running behind ZORBA DUNDEE.

RACE 4: PARKROYAL PARRAMATTA F & M CLASS 1 HCP 1250M

JOLIE CHATELAINE proved difficult to load delaying the start. Trainer M Hanneybel was instructed that JOLIE CHATELAINE would have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again. SURFING LADY was slow to begin. ROUSSEL became fractious in the barrier and reared, was removed and after undergoing a veterinary examination was passed fit to start. Jockey A Robinson (ANNIES SUCCESS) was severely reprimanded when nearing the 1000m he allowed his mount to lay in and momentarily cause crowding to JOLIE CHATELAINE who in turn crowded ROMAN SPLENDOUR, resulting in ROMAN SPLENDOUR being steadied and losing ground. ON CENTRE STAGE hung out on straightening taking ROMAN SPLENDOUR wider on the track and then over the concluding and final stages had a tendency to shift out whilst under pressure. Stable representative (A Fitzroy) was instructed that a warning was being placed on the racing manners of ON CENTRE STAGE. ROMAN SPLENDOUR lay in near the 100m and momentarily crowded TIVOLI TIME, which was steadied.

1ST: ON CENTRE STAGE 2ND: ANNIE SUCCESS 3RD: NEVER JEST

RACE 5: 2RE E & G CLASS 1 HCP 1250M

Jockey A Nicholls (ill) was replaced on ASSEYOUTH by M Dolendo. Trainer M Tucker (MACRIT) was fined the sum of $50 under AR8(d) for failing to lodge a gear change by the prescribed time. The saddle of apprentice V Tearle (MACRIT) slipped nearing the 1000m, placing apprentice Tearle at a considerable disadvantage for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination of NORMANDY AIR revealed that the gelding was suffering from thumps. Trainer A Scorse advised Stewards that NORMANDY AIR would now be sent for a lengthy spell.

1ST: SNEEM 2ND: NORMANDY AIR 3RD: LUCEWHEEL

RACE 6: TALLWOODS TAREE CUP PRELUDE HCP 1600M

Jockey M Squires (ill), was replaced on HYPER OAK by T Treichel. Approaching the 1400m DAUNTING PROSPECT began to overrace, was eased, got its head up, became unbalanced and shifted outwards bumping SHOEMAKER who was then placed awkwardly to the inside of the heels of CARMONA KING, resulting in both SHOEMAKER and DAUNTING PROSPECT becoming unbalanced. BRANKA MAGIC pulled during the early and middle stages, then approaching the home turn was held up and was unable to obtain clear running in the early part of the straight. THINK ON overraced during the early and middle stages.

1ST: MOUNTAIN ECHO 2ND: HURSLEY FLYER 3RD: SHOEMAKER

RACE 7: NBN TELEVISION CLASS 4 HCP 1400M

HANDY OSCAR jumped awkwardly, got its head up and became unbalanced for a short distance. Approaching the 1000m ROCKLILY became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of MURRAY’S KINGDOM, then nearing the 600m ROCKLILY became awkwardly placed on the heels of MURRAY’S KINGDOM, which momentarily shifted in away from PAINTER’S BRUSH and HE’S A CORKER. BILLIE DEEAY was held up and unable to obtain clear running between the 200m and 50m and over the final stages raced tight between PAINTER’S BRUSH and MR PROFESSIONAL. LUCKY HAT TRICK was held up for clear running from the 150m to the winning post and went to the line fully tested. A post race veterinary examination of FAVOURS UNLIMITED found that the mare was sore behind and subsequently trainer Ms G Budge was instructed to produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before starting FAVOURS UNLIMITED again.
