ZACH’S GIRL was very slow to begin… TECHNOPHOBE and GREIG’S GIRL were both slow to begin… ZACH’S GIRL raced fiercely in the early stages and passing the 450 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of NINCOMPOOP…

RACE 2 CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 M

HAMPTON BELLE was slow to begin… Passing the 200 metres AUGUSTA WAY was tightened and hampered between TANGERINE SKY and POP’S TAURUS when TANGERINE SKY shifted ground outwards when struck with the whip…

RACE 3 MAIDEN PLATE 1600 M

NORTHERN VIEW and BLEVMICK were both slow to begin… TIGHT FIT raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages laying out… Approaching the 600 metres SPLASHING SALLY steadied off the heels of TIGHT FIT… TIGHT FIT, which was laying out, was disappointed for clear running over the final 200 metres… B. Ward, rider of WYMAH MOON, accidentally dropped his whip passing the 300 metres…

RACE 4 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1600 M

OSPREY RIDGE was slow to begin… SIR JOINDRE over-raced in the early and middle stages… J. Dickinson, rider of RASHWAY, pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R.145 with returning to scale excessively overweight and was fined $200…

RACE 5 CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400 M

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an application by rider A. Bloomfield (VOLATILITY) that his mount be declared a non-runner on the grounds that it had been denied a fair start… Video evidence revealed that VOLATILITY’s gate was very slow to open and that the gelding had not been afforded the opportunity to jump away with the field… Acting under A.R.134A Stewards declared VOLATILITY a non-runner and ruled all monies invested on VOLATILITY were to be refunded, with successful win and place wagers to be paid less 9 cents in the dollar on win bets, and 10 cents in the dollar on place bets… MILLEPEDE and TASKWIN were both slow to begin… App. R.
