Lucky Pick Up Winner for Marshall

0725simonmarshall.jpg (12754 bytes)Simon Marshall's comeback to the saddle was given another boost in Sydney today when he scored with a lucky pick up ride.

Marshall booted home Prime Century to win the Alexandria Handicap (1000m) at Randwick after Darren Beadman was indisposed after an incident with a saddle shifting in the previous event.

Trained by Graeme Rogerson, Prime Century made the race a one act affair drawing clear to win comprehensively over Dial Tones and Splish who filled the minor placings.

Today's win was the second Sydney winner for Marshall, after he rode a winner last Wednesday.

Marshall will be looking forward to this weekend when he partners the boom Pat Duff trained youngster Star of Florida in the Group Two Up and Coming Stakes.

The talented rider has likened the youngster to a former champion he rode before initially retiring.

"He is a lot like Hareeba," Marshall said. "Star of Florida has a high cruising speed much like Hareeba did."
