LITIGIOUS slow to begin. CONKERS jumped awkwardly.

CELTIC DANE jumped in the air as start effected.

Race 3 – MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:

MONTECATANI jumped in the air as start effected resulting in M CLYDE becoming unbalanced. Shortly after straightening SANDOVER shifted out momentarily inconveniencing MONTECATANI.

Race 4 – CLASS B HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

CENTRE JEWEL jumped awkwardly. SID’S EAGLE threw its head in the air as start effected. CENTRE JEWEL and SINADRED brushed together approaching the 600 metre mark.

Race 5 – class b handicap - 1400 metres:

CUT AND THRUST jumped out onto RATTLETRAP. RUMBARELLA jumped in the air as start effected. WARINGA FLYER jumped inwards bumping SMYTZER’S STORM. RUMBARELLA raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race. At about the 400 metre mark SMYTZER’S STORM and GAGS bumped.

Race 6 – class 3 handicap - 1200 metres:

RUBYRULE appeared to stumble about 100 metres after the start. A protest was lodged by W STACEY, rider of SWEPSCAY 2nd against JUAN PABLO, M CLYDE 1st for alleged interference at about the 350 metre mark. The protest was dismissed and correct weight declared. It was established that at the 350 metre mark SWEPSCAY was attempting to take a run on the inside of JUAN PABLO when that horse shifted in slightly. Stewards were of the opinion that the incident did not affect the result of the race.

Race 7 - OPEN - 1200 metres:

GONG NAPAR slow into stride. ADAMATAIG appeared to stumble about 100 metres after the start. Approaching the 600 metre mark ADAMATAIG had to be eased when TOP SQUIRE shifted in slightly. PELT was inconvenienced slightly in the concluding stages of the race when ADAMATAIG shifted ground under pressure.
