IN THE SWING (B Dunn) jumped outward onto THERE'S DAD (B Huppatz) as start effected. Approaching the 500 metre mark SARATOGA BOY (B Cornell) shifted outwards slightly inconveniencing THERE'S DAD (B Huppatz).

NT 5 3YO TROBIS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1400 METRES 5 STARTERS

CLAD (B Huppatz) jumped inwards onto WOLF TRAP (P Johnson). WOLF TRAP (P Johnson) had to be eased momentarily leaving the 600 metre mark when HERE'S ME MATE (b Cornell) shifted ground slightly. CLAD (B Huppatz) came into contact with the running rail at about the 500 metre mark.

NT 7: CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400 METRES 10 STARTERS

SANTA'S BOY (P Crich) and BEVAN (B Cornell) came together shortly after the start. DASH IN FRONT (B Dunn) over raced in the early stages of the race. VOLCANIC PEARL was a late scratching from this event when no rider was available.

NT 9: OPEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES 10 STARTERS

RUMOUR CONTROL (B Huppatz) jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 600 metre mark SON OF GRACE (T Norton) who was inclined to hang in, forced GREY DESERT (B Cornell) onto EMPHASIS (P Crich) who was hampered momentarily. Mrs S ARNOLD, trainer of LE SAINT was asked by Stewards if she could offer an explanation for the apparent improvement of the gelding. Mrs ARNOLD stated to Stewards that her instructions to jockeys on the horse at its last two previous starts were to let the horse settle in the early stages of the races, but these instructions had not been carried out. She stated that those instructions today had been carried out and the extra distance had suited the horse. Stewards noted the explanation. START DAMSEL and TORDEAN were late scratchings when no rider was available.
