NT 1 OPEN HANDICAP 1100 METRES 7 STARTERS
QUEEN’S IMAGE (D Stanley) struck her offside stifle on the gate leaving the mounting yard. The mare underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barrier and was passed fit to run. Approaching the winning post, STAR DAMSEL (L Duggan) broke her near foreleg above the fetlock. Jockey L DUGGAN, the rider was dislodged in the incident. STAR DAMSEL was humanely euthanised by the veterinarian. Jockey L DUGGAN was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital. An inquiry into the incident will be conducted when L DUGGAN is fit enough to attend.

NT 2 CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200 METRES 8 STARTERS
L DUGGAN replaced M CORNELL as the declared rider of CLASSIC KHAN when M CORNELL was excessively overweight. CLASSIC KHAN was a late scratching when L DUGGAN became indisposed and there was no other suitable rider available. SUNDAY DRIVE (M Abe) jumped outwards as start effected bumping MONKEY BOY (J Dessa).

NT 3 TROBIS CLASS B HANDICAP 1400 METRES 9 STARTERS
CENTRE MUSIC late scratching when no rider available. Jockey M CORNELL permitted by Stewards to ride SANTA BOY 1.5kg overweight when no other rider available. SARASON’S GIRL (M Abe) raced erratically for the first 200 metres of the race. Subsequent to the race the veterinarian advised Stewards that VOLCANIC PEARL had been kicked by another runner at the barrier but was passed fit to run.

Prior to the running of Race 2 on the program Stewards consulted with all jockeys riding in remaining races and all jockeys agreed that there were no safety issues at all in regard to the track.
