Milanova Starring for Lindsay Park

Milanova has further consolidated Lindsay Park’s impressive strike rate with Danehill fillies and in particular those purchased by bloodstock agent Adrian Nicoll from BBA Ireland.

A $700,000 yearling, the impeccably bred Milanova is from a Secretariat daughter of champion race and broodmare Fanfreluche making her a close relation to top class Australian performers Flying Spur, Encosta de Lago, and French Braids.

On behalf of a largely European based syndicate Nicoll purchased five fillies at the 2000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sales including Stakes winners Langoustine, La Lagune and Vignette.

Langoustine (by Danehill) won the Group 2 Maribyrnong Plate and is currently in foal to Giants Causeway. La Lagune (by Danehill) has also gone to stud after winning the Quezette Stakes and running an unlucky second in the Blue Diamond Stakes. Both of these fillies proved to be top investments.

"Of the fillies Adrian has purchased in Australia four of the six to run have been stakes winners and we have trained three of them, which is a great record for both BBA and Lindsay Park," explains Lindsay Park’s Bloodstock Manager Mark Pilkington.

Nicoll was back in Sydney earlier this year where he purchased four fillies, three by Danehill and one by Spinning World all of which are in training at Lindsay Park.

"Lindsay Park has some of the best training facilities in the world and they have consistently provided top class results," said Nicoll.

"I am delighted that Tony McEvoy is continuing the success of previous Lindsay Park trainers. Racing well bred fillies in Australia at Lindsay Park has been a relatively easy concept to sell," added Nicoll who is also responsible for Group one victories in Europe for Australian owner breeders Joe Throsby and Jim Fleming.

Danehill’s daughters have certainly found a happy home at Lindsay Park and with the partnership at BBA Ireland selecting the right stock there is undoubtedly more winners to come.
