JORDABBEY (C. Bryant), GO (K. Louca) and PHYLL THE FLYER (J. Bowditch) were all slow to begin.

Racing to the 700 metres TELBON GOLD (N. Tomizawa) shifted in slightly, resulting in YOU EN (H. Hoppo) shifting away from that gelding and in consequence tightening RUSTIC WHIRL (M. Neilson) in onto SOCIAL HOST (B. Vale), which resulted in that gelding losing its position.

Racing to the 450 metres GO (K. Louca) over-raced and had to be checked to avoid the heels of MY CHEEKY (C. Lindop).

PHYLL THE FLYER lost its off hind plate during the race.

SLICK RACER continued to make contact with NAOMI PREVAILS (NZ), which then resulted in that mare shifting out, making heavy contact with CARRAJA. After considering the evidence, Stewards were unable to attribute the blame to any one rider.

RACE 4 – KILKENNY CASTINGS CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1608 metres

Racing to the 1100 metres, due to the pace of the race slackening, FULL GALLOP (J. Lyon) eased and as a result AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES (J. Holder) had to be steadied to avoid that gelding’s heels and in consequence DANCERKOV (J. Bowditch) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of AWAY WITH FAIRIES.

Hickmott, Trainer of LIPGLOSS, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness to Race would be required to be lodged prior to the mare accepting for any future event.

Stewards ruled that all monies invested on LIPGLOSS be refunded. Bets made on other runners prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:

Racing to the 200 metres CHEVITA (Darren Holland) had to be eased to avoid the heels of WEST STREET (T. Creek), due to that gelding rolling out under pressure.

CHEVITA lost its near hind plate during the race.

OLD SEA SALT lost its near fore plate during the race.

RACE 7 – DERMODY PETROLEUM CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1408 metres

When the gates were released WATTIWARRIGANNA (Ms. M. Henderson) was hampered by TELBON LOTTO (N. Tomizawa), which jumped outwards.

M. Neilson, rider of SCENARAJA, explained that due to his wide barrier, and his instructions not to race wide, he had got further back in the race than anticipated. M. Neilson explained that over the final 400 metres SCENARAJA responded to his riding and ran out the race strongly.
