RACE 1 – RIVERGLEN MARINA SABIS THREE-YEAR-OLD CLASS HANDICAP – 1200 metres

CRYSTALLION (T. Creek) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing MILLFIELD (S. Price), which brushed DOT’S BLUEBIRD (C. Lindop).

RACE 2 – BOOKMAKERS’ LEAGUE MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 metres

STAR DANCE, which dislodged its rider C. Bryant en route to the barriers, was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon prior to the start and ruled fit.

Inside the 800 metres TENNESSEE ROYAL (S. Price), when being steadied, shifted out onto ABOYEUR (R. Faehr), which shifted away and brushed LUNG TAH (J. Potter). Shortly after, TENNESSEE ROYAL was obliged to steady off the heels of POLICIA (D. Cleaver) and as a result shifted out, contacting ABOYEUR, resulting in that gelding shifting out onto LUNG TAH (J. Potter), which was obliged to steady off the heels of HERESY (W. Kerford).

W. Kerford, rider of HERESY, reported the gelding was most reluctant to race in the early stages and inclined to shift out away from other runners making the turn into the straight.

In the vicinity of the 200 metres DAMSELAC WARRIOR (J. Bowditch) rolled in and brushed INVULNERABLE (C. Lindop).

RACE 3 – ALCOHOL GO-EASY CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1000 metres

DISCO KID (J. Holder) was slow to jump.

Inside the 700 metres SHE’S POSH (B. Claridge) shifted in onto AMACLASE (C. Bryant), taking that gelding in onto THANKS A BUNDLE (J. Bowditch), which was obliged to steady. B. Claridge was severely reprimanded and advised in future to give riders on his inside the room to which they are entitled.

Inside the 400 metres THANKS A BUNDLE (J. Bowditch) was disappointed when attempting a run inside AMACLASE (C. Bryant), which rolled in. Shortly after AMACLASE rolled out and inconvenienced ARGENT LANE (T. Creek), which was taken out and brushed SHIRAZ NOW (S. Price).

Near the 200 metres THANKS A BUNDLE (J. Bowditch) was again disappointed when attempting a run between AMACLASE (C. Bryant) which shifted in and SHE’S POSH (B. Claridge), which was inclined to roll out marginally. C. Bryant was reprimanded and advised in future he would be required to stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.

C. Bryant was questioned on returning to Scale overweight. After considering C. Bryant’s explanation, he was fined $100 under ARR 145, and informed that future breaches may result in a harsher penalty.

RACE 4 – LAKEWOOD STUD DISTANCE CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 2200 metres

On jumping away HEADACHE (H. McKechnie), which was inconvenienced by QUITE EASY (NZ) (N. Tomizawa), shifted in at the same time as ON THE NATCH (K. Louca) shifted out.

Approaching the 400 metres SIMULATE (J. Holder) was obliged to steady off the heels of LOVE OF BRANDY (A. Stead), which shifted in under pressure.

J. Potter, rider of CARRAJA, was severely reprimanded for continuing to use his whip, inside the 200 metres, when his mount was out of contention.

CARRAJA was subjected to an endoscopic examination, which revealed the gelding was suffering from pharyngitis.

PARINGA was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, who reported a lower than normal heart rate.

RACE 5 – WEST END FLYING HANDICAP – 1200 metres

RALLY (M. Neilson), which had been restless in the gates, reared, and had become momentarily cast, was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon and ruled fit.

EL CARTERO (A. Stead) was slow to jump.

HILLVIEW EXPRESS (W. Kerford) was inconvenienced on jumping away by KURT (J. Bowditch), which shifted in at the same time as DEDICATION BOY (T. Creek) shifted out.

Approaching the 400 metres RALLY (M. Neilson) became unbalanced and shifted in, then shifted out, contacting HILLVIEW EXPRESS (W. Kerford).

RACE 6 – FINNISS LODGE / ALCOHOL GO-EASY MURRAY BRIDGE GOLD CUP – 1600 metres

BORDER TIME (C. Lindop) and MUSTAAGEL (NZ) (S. Price) brushed on jumping away.

BORDER TIME (C. Lindop) got its head up and was inclined to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

Near the 1200 metres MUSTAAGEL (NZ) (S. Price) was obliged to steady off the heels of BORDER TIME (C. Lindop).

Near the 300 metres TERMINUS PRINCE (M. Neilson), was inclined to get its head up and shift out, resulting in CARLIN (J. Bowditch) being obliged to alter course.

Over the concluding stages TERMINUS PRINCE (M. Neilson), was inclined to shift about under pressure.

T. Creek, rider of OLIVER BEER (NZ), explained he had been instructed to ride the gelding in a rearward position, owing to its barrier draw. He stated that shortly after the start he was obliged to restrain his mount in order to carry out his instructions, and although his mount had relaxed well in running, in the vicinity of the 800 metres he became concerned with his position relative to the pace of the race, given the quality of the field. T. Creek added that he had not been disappointed with his mount’s effort in the straight. Mr. D. Webster, representing Mr. D. O’Sullivan, Trainer of OLIVER BEER (NZ), was informed that in future some significant alterations to riding instructions should be provided to the Stewards.

BRAVE DECISION was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, who reported no visible abnormalities.

OLIVER BEER (NZ) was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, who reported the gelding was lame in the near fore leg.

BORDER TIME was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, who reported the gelding had an upper respiratory problem.

RACE 7 – DAISH IRRIGATION - DAVEY CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1400 metres

INTERFACE STAR was examined prior to the race and found to be lame in the near fore leg. Acting on that advice INTERFACE STAR was withdrawn by Stewards at 3.58 p.m.

Stewards ruled that all monies invested on INTERFACE STAR be refunded. Bets made on other runners prior to the withdrawal were to be paid on the face value of the ticket less:
Bets for a WIN 2 cents in the dollar, and
Bets for a PLACE 3 cents in the dollar.
SP bets are subject to the deductions.

SCENARAJA (J. Bowditch) was slow jump.

KAHOONA (N. Paine) jumped away awkwardly and then shifted out, inconveniencing EDEN ROC (J. Lyon).

Inside the 300 metres SCENARAJA (J. Bowditch) shifted out and brushed PEKOE (J. Maund).

RACE 8 – MURRAY BRIDGE MOTOR INN CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1600 metres

OSH (B. Claridge) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, inconveniencing SLIPPERY GUY (W. Kerford).

Inside the 1000 metres MAKESUM (J. Maund), which had been inclined to race ungenerously, got its head up when being restrained off the heels of AMBER COURT (J. Lyon).

Inside the 500 metres ZIP EXPULSION (S. Cahill) became held up for a short distance.

Near the 300 metres ZIP EXPULSION (S. Cahill) was held up for a short distance.

Near the 200 metres SLICK RACER (S. Price) was held up for a short distance and then was inclined to lay in under pressure for the remainder of the event. SLICK RACER was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, who reported no visible abnormalities.
