Wolf Hunts Own Race with Darwin Cup Winner

Darwin Cup winner Brave Decision has been set for the Wolf Blass Barossa Cup at Gawler on September 22.

The gelding is owned and bred by the Barossa Cup's long-time sponsor, Wolf Blass, and will return from a top campaign in the Northern Territory.

There, prepared by Steven Paynter and ridden by prominent jockey Neil Payne, he won the Chief Minister's Cup (1600m) and the Elders Doug Yuen Insurance Buntine Handicap (1900m) - breaking the Ted Cameron-trained Instant Policy's long-standing record.

Brave Decision then went on to complete a hat-trick of wins, capping it off with his win in the Darwin Cup.

For his deeds in the Northern Territory, Brave Decision was awarded the Darwin Turf Club's Club Horse of the Month, the Stayer and Middle Distance Horse of the Year and the Carlton Draught Champion Horse of the Year.

Winning Jockey Neil Payne is set to be re-united with him at Gawler.
