RACE 1 – SCHWEPPES HANDICAP 1300 metres

MISS VODKA (N Tomizawa) jumped away awkwardly.

RACHAEL’S PRIDE, which had performed poorly, was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities.

COUNTRY EAGLE, which returned to scale with blood in its mouth, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who reported the filly had displaced a tooth cap.

MISS VODKA was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities.

RACE 2 – POPE PACKAGING HANDICAP 1450 metres

SEREIN (N Tomizawa) jumped away awkwardly.

TOUCHARAJA (C Lindop) commenced to race keenly in the vicinity of the 1100 metres.

Near the 700 metres SEREIN (N Tomizawa) clipped the heels of TOUCHARAJA (C Lindop) and became unbalanced.

GRADUAL suffered a laceration to its near hind cannon during the running of the event.

Mr P Cole representing Mr S Webb the trainer of CARISSA ANN was questioned regarding the notification of D Carney as the rider for that mare. Mr Cole was advised that Stewards would impose a $50 fine for Mr Webb having declared D Carney without holding a firm engagement.

RACE 3 – BONNETT’S SADDLERY HANDICAP 1000 metres

D Carney the rider of CUBITON dropped his whip near the 300 metres. D Carney was fined $50 for carelessness in breach of ARR137 (a).

Approximately 50 metres from the winning post, D Carney the rider of CUBITON lost his offside iron.

RACE 4 – HONDA HANDICAP 2000 metres

Near the 1600 metres COLIN’S SPECIAL (M Hoppo) shifted in on to SLICK RACER (S Price), which was inclined to race keenly, taking that gelding in resulting in it being tightened and forced to steady. In consequence, COMO PRINCE (A Stead) was obliged to steady off the heels of SLICK

RACER and in doing so shifted out and inconvenienced HEADACHE (C Lindop). M Hoppo was reprimanded and advised that in future to give runners on the inside the room to which they are entitled.

Near the 1200 metres RUNNING GAME (B Claridge) got its head up and was inclined to race keenly.

Near the 500 metres SIMPLY MAGICAL (T Creek), which was inclined to lay in, shifted in on to DAPPERSTAN (C Bryant) taking that gelding in on to GUEST EXPRESS (S Harrison).

ENHANCER lost its off hind plate during the race.

SIMPLY MAGICAL was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported a lower than expected heart rate.

ENHANCER suffered a minor laceration to the outside of the off hind cannon.

RACE 5 – WINNINGMARGIN.COM.AU HANDICAP 1500 metres

DEVARAJA DAAN was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon prior to the start and found to be lame in the near fore leg. Acting on that advice DEVARAJA DAAN was withdrawn by Stewards at 2.58pm. Stewards ordered all monies invested on DEVARAJA DAAN, to be refunded. Bets on Win and Place made prior to the withdrawal to be paid on the face value of ticket less 2 cents in the dollar for the Win, less 3 cents in the dollar for the Place.

BEVAN (C Bryant) jumped away awkwardly.

Inside the 1200 metres CLOUDY PALACE (C Buchiw) shifted in and tightened BAROSSA CAN CAN (D Carney), which was inclined to get its head up and shift away brushing VIGNOR (C Lever).

Near the 1100 metres WE WILL ROCK YOU (M Hoppo) shifted in on to BAROSSA CAN CAN (D Carney), which continued to get its head up and shift away on to VIGNOR (C Lever), which was inclined to lay back resulting in BAROSSA CAN CAN being forced to check off the heels of WE WILL ROCK YOU. M Hoppo was reprimanded and advised, although not entirely responsible for the incident and in future to give riders on the inside the room to which they are entitled.

Inside the 500 metres VIGNOR (C Lever) and BEVAN (C Bryant) became held up for a short distance.

Near the 200 metres C Bryant the rider of BEVAN was accidentally struck by the whip of M Hoppo the rider of WE WILL ROCK YOU.

RACE 6 – BLACKWELL FUNERALS HANDICAP 1250 metres

LEMONADE PARADE (D Tootell) was slow to jump.

MR SPIELBERG (NZ) (C Lindop) jumped away awkwardly.

Near the 1000 metres AMBROC (R Faehr) got its head up and was inclined to shift away from the heels of KOLASE (J Holder) and as a result became unbalanced momentarily. SOUTHERN RENEGADE (N Tomizawa) was obliged to steady off the heels of AMBROC (R Faehr) and in doing so shifted out tightening LEMONADE PARADE (D Tootell) on to SPRING HAVEN (C Buchiw) at the same time as that gelding was being tightened by TEN CARAT (NZ) (J Bowditch). Stewards considered no rider was singularly responsible for the incident.

AMBROC (R Faehr) was inclined to get its head up and race ungenerously in the middle stages.

KOLASE and JAMATRE were both examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities.

RACE 7 – LIZ DAVENPORT HANDICAP 1400 metres

BROTHER’S JEST (S Price) was slow to jump.

BROTHER’S JEST, which performed poorly was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who reported the gelding to have jarred up in both front legs.

RACE 8 – ROXBY DOWNS RACING & COMMUNITY CLUBS HANDICAP 1650 metres

BENARBER was slow to jump.

In the middle stages of the race BENARBER (J O’Connor) was inclined to get its head up and lay out.

BENARBER was subject to an endoscopic examination, which revealed the gelding was suffering oxygen debt and pharyngitis was detected. Mr. K .Harrison, Trainer of BENARBER, was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of Fitness to Race would be required to be lodged prior to the gelding accepting for any future event.
