Adelaide Stablehand Outed After Positive Swab

Stewards today conducted in inquiry into a urine sample taken from registered Stablehand Andrew Crawford, which, upon analysis, was found to contain metabolites of the drug cannabis.
After considering evidence from Andrew Crawford and Racing Analytical Services Laboratory Director, Dr. J. Vine, he pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR 81A(1)(a). He was suspended from riding track work for a period of three months from 19th September 2002.
In recognition of Andrew Crawfords participation in a correctional programme, Stewards, acting under Local Rule 10B, suspended a portion of this penalty from midnight on Friday, 5th November 2002.
