Little Fined After Positive Swab in Adelaide

r6colinlittle.jpg (10118 bytes)Victorian trainer Colin Little has been handed a substantial fine after an inquiry was held today into a positive swab from an unplaced runner he had in Adelaide in last July.

Little fronted the South Australian stewards at Morphettville today and was fined $6,000 after Serai returned a swab which "containted metabolites of a prohibited substance Acepromazine.

Evidence was taken from Little, Morphettville based trainer John Hall, who was stabling the horse while it was in Adelaide and apprentice rider Kypros Louca.

Serai was disqualified from the Kevern Klemich Memorial Handicap, a race which was run at Cheltenham on July 27. The galloper finished unplaced and stewards were not forced to amend any prizemoney positions.

Stewards advised they found Hall had "not breached the Rules" and had no case to answer.
