The Mark Kavanagh-trained Catapulted has been withdrawn from Monday’s $115,400 Dunes Port Hughes R.N Irwin Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville due to a foot abscess.
Catapulted was scratched from the race shortly before 10:30am (SA local time) with the abscess to its near fore foot.
The son of Catbird won the Group 3 Rubition Stakes (1100m) two starts back at Caulfield and then had no luck at the same venue last time in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) when caught wide without cover to fade into fourteenth.
Catapulted was a $2.60 favourite for the RN Irwin Stakes with TAB Fixed Odds ahead of Avenue at $2.80 with last start winners Diplomatic Force and Augusta Proud both on the next line of betting at $8.
