Changes Aplenty For Keano

KeanoStakes-winning sprinter Keano will make his debut for trainer Shane Nichols in Saturday’s $115,000 Group Three Evright.Com D.C McKay Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville.

Keano was formerly trained by Danny O’Brien and finished eleventh in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield won by Eagle Falls at his most recent outing.

Keano will be ridden by Michael Walker in the D.C McKay and Nichols has applied the crossover noseband for the first time on the five-year-old son of Pins.

Nichols now trains at Mornington as his previous training base at Yarra Glen is currently closed due to drainage problems.

Below is the final field for the D.C McKay Stakes.
