Apprentice Stood Down By Stewards

Billy EganThoroughbred Racing SA stewards have stood down apprentice Billy Egan from fulfilling his extensive list of engagements this weekend.

The Virtual Formguide understands Egan has succumbed to weight issues and is expected to meet with TRSA stewards at a date yet to be determined.

Egan was replaced aboard Glancing at Geelong Synthetic earlier today by Peter Mertens and replacement riders will be required for Egan’s seven mounts at Morphettville tomorrow, including the Darren Weir-trained Royal Bender in the $80,000 Listed Reliance Petroleum Dermody Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville.

Egan was also booked for one ride at Sale on Sunday and four rides at Echuca on Monday, the first day of the 2011/12 season.
