Clare Lindop has become the first Australian female jockey to ride 1000 winners with a double at Morphettville in Adelaide on Saturday.
A four-time Group One winner and stable jockey for Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, Lindop went to her home track on 998.
She brought up the milestone with a fitting double for the Macdonald-Gluyas team, steering Lalla Rookh and Perfect Punch to victory.
Lindop's highest profile win came in the 2008 Victoria Derby aboard the Macdonald-trained Rebel Raider.
She may get the chance for a second Derby with Perfect Punch on the path to the Classic later this month.
