Saturday's Morphettville Races Report

The promising three year old filly Magic Milady $6.50 gave co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and their apprentice Jackson Matthews a length win in the opening event of 1600 metres at Morphettville on Saturday.

Fathered by Starcraft from the Rory’s Jester mare Buckle My Shoe, Magic Milady came from a near last position to defeat the David Hayes prepared Nathan Rose ridden World Domination, the $1.90 favourite.

Zerprise Us All $5 was another neck away third for Mick Huxtable and Simon Price.

Former jumps jockey Todd Balfour, who is now based at Cranbourne, combined with Jordan Frew in the one and a half length win of Sean Baile Mor $4 in the 2050 metre second race.

Juliet’s Princess, the $3 favourite, was a farther neck away third for Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and rider Jackson Matthews.

The Seymore training combination of Lee and Shannon Hope tasted victory when Gold Sand, the $2 favourite, was the two length winner of race four which was contested over 1600 metres.

Starting at $5 the E Dubai mare from the King of Kings matron Kay O’Plenty, Dubai Dawn beat the Gary Searle prepared Adrian Patterson ridden Clearly Passionate $9.50.

Classic Cameo $3.70 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for David Hayes and Nathan Rose.

The Stawell based partnership of Terry and Karina O’Sullivan scored their second winner of the afternoon when Did We Win $18 was the short neck winner of the 1500 metre sixth race.

Shaketheground $10 was another one and three quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Liz Faust and Tamara Zanker.

Coming from well back in the field Tristacat found the front well into the straight and beat the Mark Minervini prepared Shayne Cahill ridden Drafted $14.

Master Beckett $4.80 was a farther half length away third for David Hayes and Nathan Rose.

After siring the winner of the W S Cox Plate Pinker Pinker, Reset brought up a siring double when the Leon Macdonald/Andrew Gluyas trained Jackson Matthews ridden Blame Game gave the threesome their second winner for the afternoon in the 1800 metre eighth race.

Mothered by Defiant, a Danehill mare, Blame Game was well placed and defeated the Tony McEvoy mentored Shayne Cahill ridden Horatius, the $2.80 favourite, by a half length.

Test Century $6 was a farther short half head away third for Mark Minervini and Jordan Frew.

Trainer David Balfour brought up a well earned double when his apprentice Scott Westover rode A Wee Dram to a long neck victory in the 1100 metre final event.

Returned at $9 the Half Hennessy mare from the Spectrum matron Eminently, came from well back and beat the Mark Kavanagh prepared Reece Wheeler ridden Tropic Thunder $6.

In a good finish Valoroso $10 was a farther neck away third for Simon Casey and Simon Price.
