Thursday's Gawler Races Report

After minor placings at her last five starts Forcryingoutloud broke through for a win in the 2100 metre opening event at Gawler on Thursday.

Being under the care of co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas and having the services of stable apprentice Jackson Matthews the Street Cry mare from the Danewin matron Classic Kyles, Forcryingoutloud $3 was well placed and beat Major De $3.20 for trainer Emma Hubbard and rider Todd Pannell.

King Roseland $4.20 was a farther three quarters of a length away third for Rod Wilkinson and Paul Gatt.

Jockey Matthew Neilson celebrated his return to race riding following a suspension when he guided the Denis O’Leary prepared Asso Bello to a long neck victory in the 2010 metre second race.

Starting at $4.20 the Bellotto sired Asso Bello from the Gold Ace mare Oahu Ace, came from a mid-field position to record a win over the Dean Saxon trained Justin Potter ridden Faineant $4.60.

Local trainer Gary Searle, in partnership with apprentice Jackson Matthews, supplied the third placegetter Eton Hall $14 who was a farther one and a quarter lengths away.

Eton Hall is raced by industry stalwarts John and Dawn Schultz who were trackside celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

Jackson Matthews brought up an early double when he rode Canny Prevail to a surprise two length win for local trainer Gary Searle in the 1100 metre third race.

Sired by Canny Lad from the Shalford mare Shalaque, Canny Prevail $31 sat outside the leader and quickly went to the front in the straight defeating Genarka Star, the $3 favourite, for mentor Danny Penna and rider Adrian Patterson.

Independent Air $6 was a farther two lengths away filling the minor placing for Simon Casey and Simon Price.

In a desperate finish the second time starter Kuitpo Dancer $8.50 gave trainer Roslyn Day and rider Adrian Patterson a half head win in the 1200 metre fourth race.

From the Viscount mare Sign Nothing the Danehill Dancer sired Kuipto Dancer settled well and, maintaining a forward position, went on to beat the $7.50 chance McLaren Overture for Murray Bridge trainer John Kluske and rider Matthew Neilson.

A head away third was Pam Ann $8.50 for Rebecca Hodson and Troy Baker.

Not having raced since December last year due to injury the promising sprinter Mornin’ Sam gave Gawler trainer Gary Searle a double and apprentice Jackson Matthews a treble in the 1200 metre fifth race.

Scoring by three and a quarter lengths the Musee D’orsay sired Mornin’ Sam $2.10 , from the Kingston Mill mare Without a Mill, led nearly all the way and beat Ultramarine Blue $3.40 for trainer Daniel Clarken and his apprentice Lauren Stojakovic.

Jeuluna $6.50 was a farther long head away third for Kirsten Mcgowan and Troy Baker.

Gary Searle said that Mornin’ Sam will now progress to the Christmas Handicap of 1200 metres at Morphettville on Boxing Day.

Starting the $3 favourite Tabulated gave trainer John O’Connor and his apprentice Nathan Rose a one and three quarter length win in the penultimate race of 1500 metres.

An Exceed And Excel four year old mare from Itemise, a Kris mare, Tabulated beat the Sam Turner prepared Jackson Matthews ridden Luvbite $6.

Eureka Reign $9 was a farther three quarters of a length away filling the minor placing for Simon Casey and Simon Price.

Jockey Matthew Neilson rode his second winner for the afternoon when the Will Clarken prepared Monstarhit $3.80 was the five length winner of the final event of 1500 metres.

From the Euclase mare Star Hit and sired by Iglesia, Monstarhit led all the way and carried too many guns for the John Dunn prepared Justin Potter guided Dubai Vengenance $12 who finished a half head ahead of Beearch $9 for Tim Snelling and Todd Pannell.
