Morphettville Races Report

Not having not missed a place in his last four starts Honourable Kind broke through for a half length win in the opening event of 2400 metres on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Starting a $3.80 favourite with the second placegetter Chartreux, the Paul Gatt ridden Lloyd Kennewell trained Honours list gelding, from the Housebuster mare Some Kinda Quick, Honourable Kind came from a midfield position to beat the David Hayes prepared Nathan Rose ridden Chartreux.

Aussie Blue $51 was a farther two and a quarter lengths third for Rod Wilkinson and Simon Price.

After having to survive a protest the half brother to this years Caulfield Cup winner Southern Southern Speed, Invasion gave trainer Margaret Ruberry and rider Simon Price a long head win in the 1550 metre second race.

Starting the $4 equal favourite with the unplaced Rough Deal, Southern Invasion was well placed and beat the Libby Hopwood ridden Roy Rogers trained Meadows Mollie $4.20.

Zen $5.50 was a farther one and a quarter lengths away for Gordon Richards and Amy Herrmann.

The Jim Smith prepared Jeffrey Maund ridden Sivi Soko $11 recorded a long head win in 1250 metre third race.

From the Euclase mare Lady Milina the Dash For Cash sired Sivi Soko came from well back and defeated Zai Jian $8 for the combination of Jake Stephens and Paul Gatt.

Miss Remarkable $4 was another one and a quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Jordan Frew and Roslyn Day.

Lloyd Kennewell trained his second winner for the day when the Shayne Cahill ridden The Eighth Maker was the one and a quarter length winner of race four which was contested over 1300 metres.

Winning his fifth race from thirteen starts the Clangalang sired The Eighth Maker, from the Bluebird mare Floral Emblem, was well positioned and beat the David Jolly cared for Paul Gatt guided Barwon Express $7.

The top weight Zizz $4-40 was a farther neck away third for David Jolly and Simon Price.

The progeny of Face Value and the Staaraq mare Star Peril, Hidden Value $5 gave trainer Trevor Dansie and former bookmaker and part owner Joe Liddy a half length win in the 1000 metre fifth race.

Being well placed throughout the event the Amy Herrmann guided Hidden Value defeated the Leon Macdonald/Andrew Gluyas trained Clare Lindop ridden Moving Money $7 who finished a length ahead of the early leader Doohan $19 for Peter Jolly and Paul Gatt.

The John O’Connor trained Nathan Rose ridden Tabulated $9 brought up a hat trick of wins when she was the one and three quarter length winner of the 1550 metre sixth race.

An Exceed and Excel mare from the Itemise matron Kris, was well placed and defeated the David Jolly trained Paul Gatt ridden Conduction, the $2.80 favourite.

Justify That was another one and a quarter lengths away third for Peter Moody and Libby Hopwood.

Coming with a strong run late in the race Shekinaar gave trainer David Jolly and rider Justin Potter a short head win in race seven which was run over 1000 metres.

A Foxhound six year old mare from the Devaraja mare Scagawea, Shekinaar $6 beat another David Jolly trained runner, the Jordan Frew ridden Arinos $4.60.

Periduki $3.20 was a farther three quarters of a length away for Mick Whittle and Scott Westover.

Trainer David Jolly brought up a race to race double when the apprentice Scott Westover ridden Imperial Lines $4.40 made it two wins in succession when he was the four length winner of the 1400 metre final event

A Refuse to Bend gelding from the Royal Academy mare My Duchess, Imperial Lines was on the pace throughout the event and beat the John Hickmott cared for Nathan Rose ridden Irish Rhapsody $13.

The Georgie Henderson prepared Jordan Frew ridden Ticket to Vegas $5 was a short head away third.
