Saturday's Morphettville Races Report

The Kylie Huxtable prepared Simon Price guided Bowerbird $4.20 brought up a duo of victories when she was the neck winner of the 1250 metre opening event on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Sired by the 1999 Gold Slipper winner Catbird from the Clay Hero matron Pieta, Bowerbird came from last and beat the $3.80 equal favourite Terpsichore, with the unplaced Vintage Triumph, for Caulfield trainer Andrew Noblet and rider Clare Lindop.

Starting at $7.50 Miss Debra was another three quarters of a length away third for Paul Seater and Libby Hopwood.

Apprentice Nathan Rose steered his seventeenth metropolitan winner for the season when he combined with trainer David Hayes in the win of Zippa The Rippa, the $3.20 popular elect, who was the two and a quarter length winner of the 1000 metre second race.

A three year old daughter of the New Zealand sired Pins and the Centaine mare Pernod, Zippa The Rippa was well placed and beat the Mark Minervini cared for Shayne Cahill mount Hot Diamond, $3.80. Starting at $7 Slippery Ninja was another two and three quarter lengths away third for John Vandermyle and Adrian Patterson.

Mentor David Jolly landed the first leg of a double when Jordon Frew won on the $2.45 favourite Zizz in race three which was run over 1400 metres.

Winning by a margin of two lengths the Hurricane Sky sired Zizz, from the At Talaq mare Joy's Girl, led all the way and defeated the Ian Walker trained Shayne Cahill ridden Ace Or Joka $8. Bold Line $51 was a farther half head away third for John Hickmott and Adrian Patterson.

Jockey Simon Price rode his second winner when he guided the Terry and Karina O'Sullivan trained Magic Me, the $2.50 punter's choice, to a one and three quarter length win in the 1550 metre fourth race.

Fathered by Magic Albert and being out of the Barathea mare Amathea, Magic Me came from a rearward position and beat Impact Point $6 for mentor John Hickmott and rider Adrian Patterson. Starting at $4 Dubai Dawn was a neck away third for David Balfour and apprentice Scott Westover.

Trainer Dennis O'Leary and Victorian based apprentice Jacob Rule combined their efforts when Asso Bello, the $3.80 favourite, was the three quarters of length winner of the 2250 metre fifth race.

Being well placed the Bellotto sired Asso Bello, from the Gold Ace mare Oahu Ace, beat the Phillip Stokes mentored Matthew Neilson ridden Top Billing $5.50. He's Hot To Trot $6.50 was another half head away third for Adrian Patterson and Mick Whittle.

The promising five year old gelding Mornin' Sam, the $2.50 favourite, brought up win number five for trainer Gary Searle and connections in the 1250 metre sixth event.

Sired by Musee D'orsay from the Kingston Mill mare Without a Mill, Mornin' Sam was well positioned and beat the Mark Kavanagh prepared apprentice Jacob Rule ridden Bagman $4.40.

Produced $8 was a farther two and a quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Darryl Archard and Nathan Rose.

Sired by Keep the Faith from the Illusive Quality matron Sabha, the consistent Zaeimus gave trainer David Balfour and rider Todd Pannell a nose victory in race seven which was run over 1400 metres.

Well placed throughout the race Zaeimus defeated Alcohol $5 for the combination of trainer Richard Jolly and rider Paul Gatt.

Jestquill, the $3.80 favourite, was a farther long neck away third for Shane Oxlade and Justin Potter.

Mentor David Jolly brought up his second win for the afternoon when he teamed with rider Justin Potter in the half length victory of Streetcar Reality in the 1000 metre final event.

From the Filante matron Stellar Fille and sired by Jeune King Prawn, Streetcar Reality came from a better than midfield position to beat Triple Tee $4.80 for horse carer Mark Minervini and rider Shayne Cahill.

Gold Bundle $7.50 was another long neck away third for Paul Seater and Troy Baker.
