South Australian Awards Night a Sell Out

Next month's South Australian Thoroughbred Racing Awards Night has followed in the footsteps of the recent Australian awards night in Melbourne by selling out more than two weeks before the event.

Racing officials announced the event, which will be held at the Stamford Grand at Glenelg, was a sell out today.

About 500 of the state's racing fraternity will be on hand for the night which will also include top class live entertainment.

Major awards to be presented on the night are the SA Trainer of the Year, Jockey of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Champion Racehorse, Most Outstanding Achievement Awards and the Hall of Fame Awards.

The Hall of Fame will induct a horse, trainer, jockey and associate to an illustrious group which already includes Colin Hayes, Pat Glennon, Jim O'Connor, Matrice, Bart Cummings and the Von Doussa family.
