Stewards also advised Mr Blacker to review his communication arrangements and was advised that a re-occurrence may result in action by Stewards.

Following a submission from Trainer Mick Burles and acting on his assurance that he had not lodged a Stable Return to remove blinkers from ASA MAC, Stewards granted permission for ASA MAC to race in blinkers. Following the running of this event Stewards heard one of the owners of PETER GUN, Mr P J Ware, who expressed some concerns regarding the manner in which this gelding was ridden in today’s event. The rider Jockey C Burt stated that her instructions were to ride this gelding forward as per its normal style of running, she then stated that although the horse had travelled well it was not comfortable going through some of the wet patches on the track. Thereafter, turning for home, the gelding did not respond to any efforts under hands and heels riding and was compounding quickly. Jockey Burt stated that as a result she did not draw the whip on this gelding as she felt it would serve no purpose. Mr Ware was given an opportunity to question Jockey Burt. The parties viewed the video of the race with the Stewards after which Mr Ware stated that he was satisfied with the manner in which Jockey Burt rode the horse.

Stewards requested a post race Veterinary inspection of PETER GUN which revealed no obvious abnormalities. The Veterinary Surgeon reported the gelding had a minor abrasion on his near side rear bumper.
