Five Travellers to Take On Locals in Hobart Cup

Five interstate gallopers will clash with a group of classy local performers in Monday's $196,500 AAMI Hobart Cup (2100m) as the Tasmanian Summer Carnival hots up.

Under the Bridge (Tony Vasil), You Little Beaut (Tony McEvoy), Special Scene (Dan O'Sullivan), Dakasha (Leon Macdonald) and Porto Douro (Robbie Griffiths) will take up the challenge to try and take the Cup from the locals.

Of the interstate gallopers - the Luke Nolen mount Porto Douro - fared the best in the barrier draw, coming up with gate four (three if the emergency is withdrawn).

Under the Bridge, who will be partnered by top strike rate hoop Kelvin Sanderson, has drawn barrier 11 and is expected to run well.

The Tony Vasil prepared son of Blevic has the topweight of 57 kilograms - four more than his nearest rivals.
