RACE 1 – ALAN TRETHEWEY MAIDEN PLATE– 1600 METRES – 9 RUNNERS

This race was delayed slightly due to SHE’S WICKED (M Hart (a)) proving difficult to load into its barrier stall.

EASY CHARLIE (S Gates) had a tendency to over-race in the early stages of the event.

QUICK AS A BLINK (E Brennen (a)) laid in, in the home straight.

WIITIKO (T Wong (a)) raced greenly in the home straight.

RACE 2 – ROY WINZENBERG CLASS 2 HANDICAP– 2100 METRES - 8 RUNNERS

MING D’OR (C Burt) and NORMAN FLYER (E Chan (a)) contacted at the start.

JUST LU (L Goodrick) and NORMAN FLYER (E Chan (a)) had a tendency to over-race in the early stages of the event.

HER HONOUR (S Snell) had a tendency to lay out in the back straight.

A Swab sample was taken from the winner of the event JUST LU (Trainer R Currie).

RACE 3 – GRAEME McLEOD MAIDEN PLATE DIV (1) – 1200 METRES - 12 RUNNERS

KITA RYOKAN (L Goodrick) failed to make the allotted weight on this mount. Jockey L Goodrick pleaded guilty to a charge under AR120 (b), and was subsequently fined $100.

HE’S HOT TO HANDLE (P Michaelides) jumped inwards at the start and at the same time ALAMEEN’S PRINCESS (C KINGSTON) jumped outwards crowding OUR BOY GEORGE (S Gates), which lost some ground as a result.

A post race veterinary examination of BLUE RUSSIAN (Trainer J Petch) revealed no obvious abnormalities.

A Swab sample was taken from the winner of the event HE’S HOT TO HANDLE (Trainer C Crook).

RACE 4 – JOHN MITCHELL MAIDEN PLATE DIV (2) – 1200 METRES - 12 RUNNERS

The start of this race was delayed approximately 1 – 2 minutes when MIRAQUEST (J Nevin (a)) and FLYING DIVA (E Brennen (a)) broke through the front of their respective barrier stalls. Both horses were caught before covering any significant distance and returned to behind the barriers where they underwent a veterinary examination. They were subsequently passed fit to take their places in the race.

FLYING DIVA (E Brennen (a)) jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin and thereafter had a tendency to lay in, in the home straight, which resulted in Apprentice Brennen having to stop riding and straighten his mount at about the 150-metre mark.

A post race veterinary examination of ICED (Trainer C Goggin) revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 5 – HENRY COSGROVE CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES – 12 RUNNERS

MATSONATION (P Michaelides) jumped inwards at the start and made contact with REGENT PRINCE (S Gates) who lost some ground as a consequence.

HAIL THE GANG (M Allen (a)) and QUEST FOR GOLD (S Maskiell) came together shortly after the start.

Approaching the 600 metre mark REVECHE (T Wong (a)) shied away from MATSONATION (P Michaelides) to its outside, shifted in and made contact with WORTH A MENTION (C Burt) who in turn contacted with TRILLSON (D Pires). Thereafter these three horses made contact for a short distance after which WORTH A MENTION (C Burt) was forced to ease.

QUEST FOR GOLD (S Maskiell) laid in over the concluding stages.

RACE 6 – CHAIRMAN’S TROPHY – 2100 METRES - 7 RUNNERS

GOLD GOD (E Brennen (a)) was slow away at the start.

FANTA’S REVENGE (M Allen (a)) had a tendency to over-race in the middle stages of the event.

PAPPA BEAR (S Snell) shied and shifted in at approximately the 600m mark and as a result crowded FOREIGN CONNECTION (E Chan (a)).

SCARLET MINK (D Pires) laid in throughout in the home straight.

RACE 7 – BILL SHIELDS CLASS 2 HANDICAP– 1100 METRES - 10 RUNNERS

A Swab sample was taken from the winner of the event GEEZER (Trainer G McCulloch).

A post race veterinary examination of LADY OF NEVER (Trainer G White) revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 8 – BRIAN SPEERS CLASS 4 HANDICAP– 1600 METRES - 8 RUNNERS

The start of this race was delayed approximately 1 minute when SHOEYOCHA (D Pires) proved difficult to load into its barrier stall.

CONVERSATIONS (S Maskiell) had a tendency to over race in the early stages.

MR. FRISKY STAR (R Hanby (a)) was held up for a clear run over the concluding stages of the event.

RACE 9 – GEOFF HARPER CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES - 10 RUNNERS

There was a slight delay to the start of this race when MISS MOXIE (C Kingston) proved difficult to load into her barrier stall.

SUPER HENRY (NZ) (M Hart (a)) reared at the start and was slow away as a consequence.

A Swab sample was taken from the second place getter IRISH REACTION (Trainer K Laurence).
