Excuse My French Wins Tasmanian Guineas

Victorian three-year-old Excuse My French improved his credentials with an impressive victory in the $80,000 Listed Betfair Tasmanian Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds at Launceston on Sunday.

Beginning slowly from barrier six, Excuse My French was restrained to third last on settling down by Aaron Spiteri.

The Andrew Payne trained galloper was set alight down the side at the 650m mark and was the widest runner rounding the home bend with Ebbing also making his run from towards the tail of the field.

After balancing up in the latter half of the straight, Excuse My French ($2.90) rattled home to defeat Geegees Blackflash ($1.80 fav) by a half neck with Ebbing ($2.80) a further head away in third.

Excuse My French won last start at Moonee Valley over 2040m under lights and has now taken his record to three wins from 12 starts with prizemoney over $142,000.
