* Jockey Christie Burt was advised by Stewards that she must tender a medical certificate of fitness prior to riding in trackwork, trials or races.

Trainer G E Blacker advised Stewards that Trainer Troy Blacker would be in charge of his runners at today’s racemeeting.

Trainer Graeme J McCulloch advised Stewards that Trainer John Blacker would be in charge of his runners at today’s racemeeting.

RACE 1 - RAINE & HORNE SORELL MAIDEN PLATE - 3-Y-O & UPWARDS –1100 METRES - 17 RUNNERS

BLUE BIALIA proved difficult en route to the barriers, as a result Jockey David Sparks dismounted from this mare and the horse was led to the barriers by the Clerk of the Course.

ESTATE KING (R Bradley (a)) and JOIN THE QUEUE (S Quilty) were slow away at the start.

MINNIE MOUSQUITO (K Grueber (a)) jumped out at the start and contacted with BAY RITZ (B McCoull) which resulted in BAY RITZ becoming slightly crowded for galloping room. As a result of this incident BAY RITZ contacted with SINODAL (J Borrett).

BLUE BIALIA (D Sparks) over-raced in the early and middle stages.

ENMAN (K Sanderson) raced greenly in the early stages.

Leaving the 600m mark STORM RAJ (K Lewis) shifted in slightly and as a result BLUE BIALIA (D Sparks) following to its inside had to be checked by its rider. Stewards reprimanded Jockey Lewis under AR 137 (a) (careless riding) and advised him to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future.

BLUE BIALIA (D Sparks) laid in at about the 150m mark resulting in the rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount. As a result of this movement PRINCE RAFTER (M Goring) which was following to the inside had to be momentarily steadied.

SINODAL (J Borrett) shifted in abruptly at approximately the 100m mark and carried DARK LADONI (L Goodrick) inwards who then made contact with BLUE BIALIA (D Sparks). As a result of this incident BLUE BIALIA bumped with PRINCE RAFTER (M Goring).

A post race Veterinary inspection of HUNTER LAKE revealed no obvious abnormalities.

A swab sample was taken from the 5th placed horse BAY RITZ (Trainer David Brunton).

RACE 2 –RAINE & HORNE KINGSTON MAIDEN PLATE – 1400 METRES – 15 - RUNNERS

INSURED (J Borrett) was slow away.

DALWINA (S Quilty) had a tendency to over-race in the early stages of the event.

POPULAIRE (L Goodrick) over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

MISS MATSQUI (S Tsaikos) raced ungenerously approaching the 1000m mark and shied away abruptly from runners to her outside.

Approaching the 800m mark DALIOCHA (S Snell) threw its head up and raced ungenerously for a number of strides.

A post race Veterinary inspection of DALIOCHA revealed several abrasions to the near hind posterior aspect above fetlock.

Post race Veterinary inspections of HELLO HEAVEN and LAKE PENAH revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 3 - RAINE & HORNE INTERNATIONAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES – 8 RUNNERS

WEST WILL QUEST (S Tsaikos) was slow into stride.

When switched out shortly after straightening GREY INTRIGUE (B McCoull) shifted ground outwards abruptly and in doing so caused some inconvenience to ALIBRI (D Pires (a)) and ALL MIGHTY ACE (K Grueber (a)) to its outside. Jockey McCoull stated that when he switched his horse outward it over-reacted. He also added that the gelding raced green. Notwithstanding this fact Jockey McCoull was shown the video and advised to take far greater care in future when shifting ground.

CLEVER JEEL (C Kingston) laid in rounding the home turn shortly before straightening and as a result brushed with RILEY REDWING (S Quilty) to its inside.

DAYBREAK DAWN (P Michaelides) laid in in the straight and as a result Jockey Michaelides had to stop riding and straighten his mount on two occasions.

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the event TURBULENT FORCE (Trainer N Richardson).

RACE 4 - RAINE & HORNE HOBART CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1600 METRES – 15 RUNNERS

HUTTON (S Snell) was slow away at the start.

Rounding the turn at the 1400m mark ASA MAC (K Sanderson) threw its head into the air when being restrained by its rider and commenced to race ungenerously for a very short distance. As a result and BUFFALO LASS (K Grueber (a)) who was following raced awkwardly on its heels and switched to the inside, and in doing so appeared to clip the heels of ASA MAC, blundered and fell, dislodging Apprentice K Grueber. Apprentice Grueber was taken to hospital for observation. Stewards confiscated Apprentice Grueber’s skullcap as her head appeared to have contacted the ground in the fall.

Approaching the 200m mark LITTLE EM (S Maskiell) switched to the outside of LONDON TAN (J Borrett) and in doing so crowded ASDIC (P Michaelides) onto LICAM LACAL (S Quilty). Stewards showed Jockey Maskiell the video and reprimanded him under AR 137 (a) (careless riding). Jockey Maskiell was reminded to take far greater care when shifting ground in future.

BIEGA (S Tsaikos) was held up for a clear run between the 200m and 100m mark.

A post race Veterinary inspection of HUTTON revealed no obvious abnormalities.

A post race Veterinary inspection of BUFFALO LASS revealed minor grazes to both knees, a small trickle of blood from it’s right nostril due to external trauma, and the right eye was slightly closed with tears.

A swab sample was taken from BUFFALO LASS (Trainer W H Burt).

RACE 5 – RAINE & HORNE SORELL CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1100 METRES – 10 RUNNERS

CONVERSATIONS (C Kingston) raced in the all pink Club colours. A public announcement to this effect was made prior to the event.

Shortly after leaving the 200m mark Jockey S Maskiell the rider of COMICS lost his footing from his near side stirrup iron and whilst trying to regain his footing COMICS shifted inwards slightly, at the same time BICAPOBLUE (D Pires (a)) shifted outwards slightly resulting in these two horses coming together and brushing for a number of strides. As a result Jockey Maskiell became unbalanced during the course of this incident.

Post race Veterinary inspections of COMICS and PASIELLES revealed no obvious abnormalities

RACE 6 - RAINE & HORNE SPRING CUP – 1600 METRES 8 RUNNERS

FEMME BUISSON was a late scratching at 3.29 pm by order of Stewards acting on Veterinary advice when there was evidence of blood from one nostril. A Veterinary inspection of FEMME BUISSON and endoscopic examination confirmed this mare had bled from paranasal sinus and not from the trachea. Stewards ordered a refund of all bets struck on this mare prior to her withdrawal time of 3.29 p.m. No deductions in bets were ordered.

TUZLA (S Tsaikos) blundered badly at the start and as a result lost ground on the field.

RAHIRI (B McCoull) was slow into stride.

Leaving the 600 m mark RAHIRI (B McCoull) was carried a little wider by NUNKERRI KOREKA (P Michaelides).

Approaching the 150m mark CARRINGTON STAR (S Snell) ducked outwards abruptly and as a result CAITLIN’S HOPE (S Quilty) had to switch to the inside of that gelding to obtain a clear run.

On return to scale Jockey C Kingston reported to Stewards that GOLD GOD got it’s tongue over the bit in running.

A post race Veterinary inspection of GOLD GOD revealed no obvious abnormalities.

A post race Veterinary inspection of TUZLA revealed this gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Graeme McCulloch will be advised that a Veterinary Certificate of fitness is required prior to this gelding’s next race start.

RACE 7 – RAINE & HORNE KINGSTON CLASS 4 HANICAP – 1600 METRES – 10 RUNNERS

The gear in the racebook incorrectly reflected that FLY TIME was to race with blinkers on for the first time. An announcement to this effect was made prior to the event.

Stewards granted permission for Jockey S Quilty to replace Apprentice R Bradley on NOT ALL OVER when Apprentice Bradley could not claim a reasonable portion of her allowance. A public announcement to this effect was made prior to the event.

Stewards granted permission for B McCoull to ride FLY TIME 1kg overweight.

LUMINOUS PRINCE (K Lewis) pulled hard in the early stages.

NOT ALL OVER (S Quilty) was held up for a clear run behind LUMINOUS PRINCE (K Lewis) shortly before straightening and had to be eased by its rider.

At about the 200m mark BARKER (P Michaelides) had to switch to the outside of LUMINOUS PRINCE (K Lewis) who had commenced to lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

FLY TIME (B McCoull) laid in under pressure and brushed with SILK ‘N’ ROSES (S Maskiell) approaching the 100m mark.

A post race Veterinary inspection of O’CONNOR STREET revealed this mare bled post race from the right nostril from a small cut inside the nostril.

A swab sample was taken from the second placed horse in the event FLY TIME (Trainer Andrew Wilson).

RACE 8 – RAINE & HORNE HOBART CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1400 METRES – 12 RUNNERS

Stewards granted permission for Jockey M Goring to replace Apprentice R Bradley on TARKINE when Apprentice Bradley could not claim any portion of her allowance. A public announcement to this effect was made prior to the event.

MR O’GRADY (P Michaelides) broke through the front of the barriers, was returned to behind the barriers where it was inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, and declared fit to take its place in the field.

LILAC QUEEN (L Goodrick) was slow to begin and lost 3-4 lengths at the start.

SPRINGFIELD MAN (S Quilty) became crowded over the concluding stages when DONNA MAJELLA (S Snell) shifted in under pressure and WIND FORCE (S Tsaikos) shifted outwards slightly.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for Apprentice Bradley being unable to claim a reasonable portion of her allowance in respect to NOT ALL OVER and TARKINE and reprimanded Apprentice R Bradley under LR 19 (h) (iii).

Stewards inquired into the reasons for Trainer R Carr being late in presenting TARKINE into the saddling enclosure. Stewards reprimanded Trainer Carr under LR 35 (c) (1)

A post race Veterinary inspection of MR O’GRADY revealed no obvious abnormalities.
