- Wednesday, 28 August 2002 00:00
The Fred Kersley trained reigning Cox Plate winner is due to step out in Saturdays Memsie Stakes in a clash with the brilliant first up winner Fields of Omagh.
Damien Oliver will be reunited with the Serheed gelding who resumed with a fair fifth in the recent listed Goodwood Sprint at Belmont Park in his home city.
Northerly will again race without the blinkers on Saturday. Connections are at this stage still unsure as to whether they will be left off again in the future.
Last seasons champion middle distance performer is again being aimed at the Group One Carlton Draught Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley in October.
