RACE 1: MONADELPHOUS MAIDEN - 1000M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner CONDOR’S STAR (W. Pike). POLLY POLLY DOODLE (D. Dicks) was slow into stride and attempted to buck in the early stages. Trainer Mr P. Bamford was advised that POLLY POLLY DOODLE would have to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again. CONDOR’S STAR raced keenly in the early and middle stages getting its head in the air.

RACE 2: KIRKALOCKA GOLD MINE SPRINT – 1200M

BACKBURNER (D. Dicks) hung out from the 600m. ROBELLINO (B. Mathews) lay inwards at the 200m causing WHAT ABOUT PARIS (R. Hanson) to ease. A veterinary inspection of BACKBURNER revealed nothing amiss. A veterinary examination of ROBELLINO revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore inside heel. Trainer Mr N. Biggs’ representative was advised that ROBELLINO would require a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness before ROBELLINO racing again.

RACE 3: PEST-A-KILL HANDICAP – 1300M

MOTOR MICK (R. Quartermaine) was slow to begin and then raced keenly in the early stages of the race. Near the 850m RICE (A. Ng) lay inwards bumping COMMIT (R. Hanson) on several occasions. Apprentice A. Ng was advised of his obligation to keep his mount straight at all times. MOTOR MICK lay in over the final 150m.

RACE 4: DYSON JONES HANDICAP – 1400M

The distance of this race was amended from the advertised 1500m to 1400m as a section of the track near the 1500m was deemed unsafe. Routine Specimens were taken from the winner ELLAND ISLE (D. Dicks). GO LOVER (W. Pike) was slow into stride and pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

RACE 5: HARMONY GOLD CUP – 1800M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner MALWOOD (A. Ng). HEXAPACK (W. Pike) shifted out at the start bumping MALWOOD (A. Ng), causing ALLIED SPIRIT (D. Catarino) to ease. HEXAPACK raced keenly in the middle stages.

RACE 6: V205 HANDICAP – 1200M
