RACE 1: M. MURRAY MAIDEN – 1680M

SCUETTO (P. King) threw its head on jumping, losing ground. LITTLE CHEVAL (S. O’Donnell) was buffeted shortly after the start between SERTENTIAL (T. Stubberfield) and VIGOROUS BID (K. Hawkins). VIGOROUS BID raced keenly in the early and middle stages getting its head in the air. RARENUI (N. Chapman) raced greenly and made contact with the running rail on several occasions between the 900m and the 700m. Passing the 700m RARENUI and TOROLOSA (L. Camilleri) bumped. At the 550m VIGOROUS BID and SERTENTIAL bumped. Near the 400m VIGOROUS BID shifted outwards making contact with SERTENTIAL. COTTON CREEK (J. Whiting) made the turn into the straight wide and then lay inwards over the final 150m. SCUETTO lay outwards in the straight placing Jockey P. King at a disadvantage in riding the gelding out. VIGOROUS BID returned having cast its off fore plate.

RACE 2: PETER YOUNG MAIDEN – 1000M

BOLD VOLTAGE (T. Bajramovic) was slow into stride. FLUTIQUE (D. Randall) threw its head on jumping. FIMISTON FAME (N. Chapman) and KAM PAI (P. Farrell) bumped at the start. NOBLE DASH (L. Camilleri) lay outwards throughout. ROYAL RESORT (A. Sansom) raced greenly in the straight. STORMICIDAL (Jason Miller) lay outwards over the final 250m. Jockey S. O’Donnell (MISS GANGSTER GIRL) dropped his whip passing the 200m.

RACE 3: LANCE LUDGATE MAIDEN – 1300M

TONES OF BLUE (A. Sansom) was difficult to load delaying the start. VIRGINIA REEL (J. Whiting) was slow into stride. SECRET SEA (S. Parnham) and RONCHANT (Danny Miller) bumped at the start. POINT DAM ZERO (B. Mathieson) shifted outwards at the start causing TONES OF BLUE to steady and lose ground. PARTING SMILE (W. Arnold) and CHAPEL HILL (D. Randall) bumped passing the 1200m. CHAPEL HILL then lay outwards making the 900m turn. UP THE REVS (T. Ikenushi) raced wide throughout. Passing the 875m TONES OF BLUE lay outwards causing POWER OF ATTORNEY (N. Chapman) to steady off the heels of SECRET SEA. Passing the 700m METAL DAGGER (Jason Brown) brushed the rail and shifted outwards bumping CHAPEL HILL causing MY THORNBIRD (K. Hawkins) to race wide. RUSTY AND GOLD (S. McGruddy) was held up from the turn into the straight until the 225m. Near the 375m USAHA SETIA (L. Camilleri) was momentarily impeded behind the tiring RONCHANT (Danny Miller). VIRGINIA REEL lay outwards passing the 200m. A post race veterinary inspection of the unplaced RONCHANT revealed nothing amiss. Jockey Mr Danny Miller advised that the connections were disappointed in the performance of RONCHANT and it was their intention not to continue with the gelding’s preparation.

RACE 4: CYRIL SCREAIGH HANDICAP – 2100M

PERSONAL DRUM (S. McGruddy) threw its head in the air at the start. DURBRIDGE TOY (P. Harvey) over raced in the early and middle stages. PERSONAL DRUM raced keenly getting its head in the air for a short distance near the 1400m. STAR ALLUSION (D. Randall) raced wide throughout.

RACE 5: MALCOLM BENNETT HANDICAP – 1400M

OUR REWARD (T. Turner) was slow to begin. BEAUTIFUL DYNA (P. Carbery) was buffeted heavily at the start between MONTANA STORM (N. Chapman) and HIGHLAND CHIEFTAIN (K. Forrester). HIGHLAND CHIEFTAIN then raced keenly until near the 1000m.

RACE 6: MAKIN & SONS HANDICAP – 2100M

HONOR MY NAME (K. Hawkins) dwelt at the start losing ground. GREY WAVE (D. Randall) commenced awkwardly. SILENT MOMENT (T. Ikenushi) and HOOKTAHAIRN (T. Turner) bumped shortly after the start. HOOKTAHAIRN raced wide throughout. Approaching the 750m CUNDERDIN KID (P. King) shifted outwards carrying HASTINGS HERO (L. Camilleri) and HOOKTAHAIRN wide. PEKAN FLYER (P. Harvey) lay inwards over the final 250m. The Club’s Veterinary Officer reported that after running DIAMOND CROWN suffered muscle cramping in the off fore.

RACE 7: G & L SAUNDERS HANDICAP – 1000M

CHARGE AND HIRE (T. Turner) and LORD OF POP (J. Oliver) were slow to begin. BLACK MARTINI (Danny Miller) commenced awkwardly and shortly afterwards bumped ARMAGH PRIDE (B. Sheehy). Approaching the 700m FIMMO’S FANTASY (P. King) rolled outwards inconveniencing SWIFT TARA (K. Hawkins). Shortly after PRECIOUS RESOURCE (P. Harvey) shifted inwards crowding REMLAP GOLD (Jason Brown). CHARGE AND HIRE was held up from the 450m until the 350m. ROCK ‘N’ RUBY (P. Carbery) was held up from the turn into the straight until being taken inwards approaching the 175m.

RACE 8: IAN JOHNSTON HANDICAP – 1300M

SHARE MY MAGIC (N. Rudland) shifted in at the start bumping ON CONDITION (R. Mills). DEBERNALES (Jason Brown) shifted outwards at the start bumping HEIR AFFAIR (J. Oliver) causing AKRAM WARRIOR (J. Whiting) to bump heavily with CLASSIC ALLUSION (T. Ikenushi). SOLDIERS ROAD (N. Chapman) raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and passing the 1250m bumped JOONDANNA LODGE (A. Sansom). Approaching the 1000m ACE O’ CLASS (S. Parnham), PENGOUS (S. McGruddy), JOONDANNA LODGE and ON CONDITION, when racing tightly, buffeted for a short distance. Passing the 1000m AIM STRAIGHT (P. Carbery) and HEIR AFFAIR bumped. Near the 600m LORD GEMINI (P. King) and MIRA MYSTERY (P. Farrell) bumped. Inside the 600m SOLDIERS ROAD, whilst continuing to race fiercely, was restrained off the heels of LORD GEMINI. SOLDIERS ROAD was blocked from the 400m until the 150m. AIM STRAIGHT had difficulty in obtaining clear running from on straightening until the 225m. Passing the 250m CLASSIC ALLUSION (T. Ikenushi) rolled inwards crowding AIM STRAIGHT which bumped MEDIC’S REFLECTION (C. Farrell). Approaching the 100m HEIR AFFAIR shifted inwards crowding CLASSIC ALLUSION. Apprentice S. Parnham reported that ACE O’ CLASS lay outwards from the 600m and made the turn into the straight wide. AKRAM WARRIOR returned with a minor laceration to the off hind.

Routine Specimens were taken from all winners.
