Durrant, Kennedy Register Railway Day Treble in Tatt's Cup

Classy mare Ma Chienne made it back to back distance wins with her maiden stakes triumph, in the $75,000 Listed Tattersall's Cup (2200m) at Ascot on Saturday, giving lethal trainer/rider combination Adam Durrant and Alan Kennedy a winning treble on Carlton Draught Railway Stakes day.

Ma Chienne ($4.50) was patiently ridden by Kennedy in a muddling run race, allowing the grey daughter of Verglas to relax and find her feet, through the majority of the race.

In the straight, Ma Chienne was pulled to the outside to make a barnstorming finishing run, overpowering Biara Rose, who was game in second place after making an early bid for victory, by a long neck.

The feature race success now makes Ma Chienne a leading $400,0000 BMW Perth Cup (2400m) contender on New Years Day.

Durrant will give Ma Chienne a freshen up, before stepping her out in the $250,000 Group 2 Landscape Development Cox Stakes (2100m) next month at Ascot.

"It's pretty pleasing. It was a good effort in a big test today," Durrant said.
