RACE 1: THE SKYWEST GOLDFIELDS MAIDEN – 1760M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner SONIC BLUE (K. Nowland). RHYTHM DIVINE (C. Farrell) over raced in the middle stages. Approaching the 380m HAY BURNER (S. O’Donnell) shifted outwards bumping RHYTHM DIVINE.

RACE 2: SKYWEST-THE BEST WAY TO GET AROUND WA MAIDEN – 1300M

The start of this race was delayed due to TRIBU FLYER (G.Smith) having cast its near fore plate at the barrier. As the plate was unable to be refitted the off fore plate was removed and TRIBU FLYER was permitted to race bare in front. Routine Specimens were taken from the winner POLISH PRINCE (R. Kirkup). WOCKBRO (S. O’Donnell) was slow into stride. DON’T DUAL (N. Hopwood) and TOPDRESSER (B. Mathews) pulled hard in the early stages. VEGAMAN (K. Nowland) over raced in the early stages. Near the 400m VEGAMAN (K. Nowland) shifted out carrying WOCKBRO wider on the track. SHE’S A SAVIOUR (E. Dredge) bled from both nostrils during running. Trainer Mr P. Graham was advised that SHE’S A SAVIOUR would now suffer the disabilities of ARR.53A.

RACE 3: SKYWEST PACKAGE HOLIDAYS HANDICAP - 1300M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner JASHAR BOY (G. Smith). WELL ENDOWED (C. Farrell) and SECRET MENTOR (S. O’Donnell) were slow into stride.

RACE 4: SKYWEST-W.A’S AIRLINE CLASS TWO – 1600M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner MASSINE (S. O’Donnell). AS WE WISH (R. Kirkup) was fractious in the barrier prior to the start. RUBEN’S PALACE (G. Smith) was slow into stride. AL DIDNAVADAD (C. Farrell) over raced in the early stages. Near the 400m DUBLORNUTHIN (R. Mills), when racing tight on the inside of COUNT VIRGO, struck the running rail. PEACEFUL OUTCOME (B. Mathews) lay inwards in the straight obliging the rider to change the whip into the left hand. FLYING MIRAGE (K. Nowland) raced wide throughout.

RACE 5: SKYWEST FLYING FOKKER 50 HANDICAP – 1400M

Specimens were taken from the second placed MYSTERY MORN (G. Smith). HOW DO WE KNOW (S. O’Donnell) was slow into stride. CORRUGATED IRON (R. Kirkup) jumped out at the start bumping MYSTERY MORN, which then over raced in the early stages. Near the 1200m RURAL THUNDER (R. Caddies) and SALUTE THE ACE (C. Farrell) brushed. RURAL THUNDER raced wide through out.

RACE 6: SKYWEST HANDICAP – 1760M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner NOON (E. Dredge). LAWMAKER (S. O’Donnell) jumped awkwardly, losing ground.

RACE 7: THE SKYWEST-ESPERANCE CLASS ONE – 1400M

Routine Specimens were taken from the winner ALPHA BLUE (B. Mathews). STOP STRESSING (N. Hopwood) which was fractious in the barriers, was removed and following a Veterinary examination was passed fit to start. As a result the start of this race was delayed 5 minutes. RENEE MAGIC (R. Mills) was slow into stride. Near the 1100m ALPHA BLUE (B. Mathews) shifted inwards causing EXCESSIVE FORCE (K. Nowland) to steady and make contact with SUPREME SALLY (S. O’Donnell). SUPREME SALLY was buffeted between STOP STRESSING and EXCESSIVE FORCE until the 1050m before being eased, losing ground. EVIL CONGRESS (E. Dredge), which was following, was inconvenienced. On Inquiry Jockey B. Mathews was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear. STOP STRESSING took the 800m turn awkwardly, shifted outwards and steadied from the heels of EXCESSIVE FORCE. SILK ‘N’ STEEL (R. Caddies) and KYOSHI (C. Farrell) raced wide throughout. BRING IT HOME BABE (G. Smith) and RENEE MAGIC raced wide from the 800m. STOP STRESSING was held up for a run between the 350m and the 150m. Apprentice C. Farrell (KYOSHI) advised that shortly after straightening, he dropped his whip when attempting to free it from the gelding’s mane.
