Perth Cup & C.B. Cox Stakes Noms Released

The first nominations for the $400,000 Group 2 BMW-Perth Cup (2400m) and the $250,000 Landscape Development-C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) were released on Tuesday, with Melbourne Cup contestant Newport amongst the strong entries.

Victorian trainer Peter Moody has entered former WATC-Derby winner Markus Maximus for the Cup, along with stable mates Fairygem, Definitive and Pentoscar.

Of the locals, Scenic Shot, Lords Ransom and Star Encounter will attempt to win their home town cup

Minimum Weights:
4yo&Up - 52.0kg; 3yo - 50.0kg (No Claims)

Weights will be declared on or about Friday December 11, 2009.

A late entry may be accepted after 12noon on Tuesday December 8, 2009 and before 9.30am on Friday December 11, 2009. Each late entry must be accompanied by a fee of $8,800 (incl GST) and shall be subject to the declaration fees.

Final Declaration at 12noon Monday December 28, 2009. Declarations of acceptance must be lodged in writing before the time stated.

The final declaration fee is $2,200 (incl GST). Any horse not declared a ‘Final Accptor' by the time stated will be automatically withdrawn.
