TAMBOURINEMAN then had a tendency to lay inwards. When questioned regarding the improved performance of CHRISTOPHER MAC, Trainer Mr R. Price explained that at its last start the gelding had commenced well and had raced in a forward position on the rail and then was shuffled back in the middle stages. In his opinion CHRISTOPHER MAC resented racing amongst the field and today, after being able to lead, appreciated having ample galloping room. It was his intention in the future to have CHRISTOPHER MAC ridden in a similar manner. It was established that the connections had only supported the gelding in a token manner today.
