Mr Turrell stated that SALAVAT had got back in the field at its previous start over 1100m, due to the fast early pace and had then raced keenly. He further stated that due to the increase of distance in today’s race and favourable barrier draw, he had instructed Jockey Carbery to ride the mare in a forward position. He further stated that shortly after this EMPENNAGE (P. Carbery) had moved to his outside causing DYNAMIC ELITE to be blocked until near the 400m. Stewards accepted his explanation, however Jockey Arnold was advised that the Stewards believed he had erred in not taking his mount to the outside of TOPSTOCK from the 600m. Apprentice Ikenushi was instructed that in similar circumstances he is to carry lead, thereby reducing the amount of packing. Trainer P. RACE 4: THE GENTING PALACE – 1000M

When presented in the mounting enclosure it was observed that FEMME was not racing in a shadow roll as noted on the official gear sheet.
