Trainer Charles Pirotta was fined $50 under AR140A for presenting SCENIC ROK in the mounting yard without blinkers. SCENIC ROK (D Oakford) was permitted to race without blinkers on this occasion as the gelding had not been wearing blinkers in its work since transferring to Mr Pirotta’s stables. A post race veterinary inspection of EASY CHARLIE (Trainer Tommy Young) failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Stewards accepted Trainer Jason Clifford’s explanation for the late declaration of Apprentice M Ball as the rider of MURTOBIA. A public announcement was made to this effect.

Jockey Maskiell was subsequently fined $100 under AR 175(k) negligence for weighing out without his irons.
